Cultural references[edit]
- The title of the level is a reference to the film Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
- One of the phrases Homer says is "Why can't they be funny aliens, like ALF?"
- Before getting to the tractor beam, the gameplay becomes like Space Invaders.
- Inside the ship, there might appear a picture of Kang and Kodos in a reference to the "All your base are belong to us" meme from Zero Wing. Also, both aliens are dressed exactly like the game character who said the phrase.
- Pong plays in the UFO.
- Sideshow Bob says "In space, no one can hear you scream", a reference to the movie Alien.

- This is the first time urination is depicted in The Simpsons. An alien pees in the fountain before a security guard shows to stop him.
Continuity[edit]
- The images of Earth and Springfield inside the spaceship are from The Simpsons Movie.
- One of the screens is seen playing Pong.. ("Treehouse of Horror")
- Hillary Clinton (the Senator) (from "Mob Rules") can be seen inside one of the tubes in the probe room of the spaceship.
- In the PS2/Wii versions, it is Edna Krabappel.
