"Grand Theft Scratchy" is the twelfth level of The Simpsons Game. To open the door of the creator's mansion, the Simpsons look for the four keycards in the four worlds created by the creator. This world is the video game "Grand Theft Scratchy" and Marge and Lisa decide to clean it up.

Description

After the level "Bargain Bin" is completed, four more levels open up at the game engine. These can be taken in any order, but this is the next level following the story. It is also the first level in which Lisa can use the "Hand of Buddha's lighting and freeze": she can electrocute enemies with a thunder and freeze them to turn them into an ice block and drop it on more enemies.

Plot

The portal takes Marge and Lisa to the game "Grand Theft Scratchy," which Marge had previously stopped from being sold to kids. Seeing dirty buildings, mouse pimps, cat prostitutes, and gang wars, Marge decides to clean up the game. She recruits dogs from cages and orders them to fix the buildings while they fight Itchy and Scratchy gangsters. They clean houses, shops, and a gas station, and destroy a broken freeway section to access the other side of the street. After fixing more buildings, Lisa uses Buddha's Hand to freeze enemies and drop ice blocks into the water, creating a bridge to Poochie Island. They cross and fix the last building. Poochie, rapping nearby, sends prostitutes to destroy the trucks. Marge and Lisa defeat three waves of enemies, and Marge sends her dogs to destroy Poochie's stage. The senator appears to thank them, proclaiming an end to video game violence, but is killed when a sign falls on her. Marge and Lisa take the "Poochie keycard" from her bag and walk away.

Gameplay

Gather dogs as mob members to help with tasks, and use Lisa's Hand of Buddha for specific areas. Destroy dog kennels along the way to recruit more mob members, as they’ll be needed to fight off gangstas after each building repair. Once you've cleaned up seven buildings on this street, a Hand of Buddha will appear near the elevator at the end. Put some of your mob in the elevator with Marge. Switch to Lisa, activate the Hand of Buddha, and place one of the batteries (found on Happy Times' roof or behind it) into a generator to lift Marge and her mob to the highway's middle level. Destroy the wires at the end to bring down a highway section, then return to bring Marge back down. Clean up the next nine buildings along the nearby streets, using the mob as before. Some buildings require special actions: at the WUUF radio station, use a trampoline behind the building to place Maggie in a vent, navigate to the control room, and press the button to change the music. For the Clip Joint, use Lisa’s Hand of Buddha to lift it out of the water before the mob can repair it. Once you fix all the dirty buildings, Use the Hand of Buddha to place frozen gangstas in the water and form an ice bridge to Poochie Island (On the Wii/PS2/PSP version of the game this task is different, where you send Marge's mob to the Poochie billboard next to the sandy beach, then direct them to construct the rubble on the beach. You'll need to switch to Lisa and use the Hand of Buddha to place the billboard next to the wooden side of the bridge. Now move the hand to the freeway at the far end of the water. Lift it and place it between the billboard and the wooden bridge).

Once you cross the bridge with your mob and destroy all van spawners, then clean up the Kwikki Shoppe and the two gray trucks. Now you'll need to defend the ice cream trucks from waves of bombing enemies. Use the Hand of Buddha and drop explosive barrels along their path. Aim to place barrels ahead of enemies, as the explosions burn for a while. You'll also be able to stun the Hos with Lisa's Sax, making them attack other enemies. The attacks end after three waves. Rally Marge’s mob to attack Poochie’s stage, defeating him and bringing a "wholesome" finish to the mission.
