Olde Springfield and New Springfield were towns. Each part was Springfield split into two. Olde Springfield's town bird was the bluebird. There is a bridge that divided them.

Once Homer switched off the power to Olde Springfield. There was once gold on the Olde Springfield side of the bridge. When everyone went over a wall to Olde Springfield, New Springfield became a dump site.
