Variations

Behind the Laughter

There were several different versions of the theme song. The first one is sung by studio singers whose voices were sped up to make it sound more cartoony. The second version was heard in the aforementioned "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge" episode when Marge demanded that the violence be toned down. The third version was a ballad-like end credits version of the song with the lyrics re-written in past tense heard in "The Front".

The Main Title and End Credits are on the album Songs in the Key of Springfield as tracks nine and ten respectively.
