The Legend of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda is a fantasy action-adventure video game franchise created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, developed by Nintendo, incorporating action-adventure and action RPG elements.
The main protagonist is Link, an elf character, a hero on a quest to save Hyrule, and other countries, from the evil clutches of Ganon, his minions and other villains. The hero sets to adventure on the quest obtaining items that will help his adventure, including bows, bombs, hookshots and boomerangs. His main weapon is the sword, and usually, in the middle of its quest, he finds the Master Sword, the sword of evil bane. During his quest he saves the princess of the kingdom, Princess Zelda and other maidens from the evil's clutch.
The original game was released in 1986, and the series has been released on all of Nintendo's major consoles, spanning 19 main entries, and several spin-offs and cameos.
