The Springfield Dog Pound is a dog pound located in Springfield. It is one of the many places where El Barto has struck.
History[edit]
Santa's Little Helper ran away from the Simpsons' home because the gate was left open and he wandered off. Lost and unable to find his way back, he ended up being picked up by animal control and taken to the Springfield Dog Pound. There, Mr. Burns and Smithers visited looking for a strong guard dog and chose him from the shelter, taking him into their care at Burns' estate.[1]
In conversation with Lisa after Bleeding Gums Murphy's death, Homer suggested that she could “go down to the pound” to get a new jazz musician, treating the loss as something that could be casually replaced. Lisa reacted emotionally, rejecting the idea that a person could simply be substituted.[2]
A photograph from the pound showed a dog with "El Barto" shaved into its fur. The pound was also listed on a notepad on Wiggum's desk under "Place El Barto has struck".
Snake's wanted file states that he has escaped from the pound as well as Springfield Reformatory, Springfield Jail and Springfield High School detention room.
