SABF is the twenty-sixth production season of The Simpsons. Al Jean served as the showrunner for most of the season while Matt Selman served as the showrunner for SABF05, SABF10, SABF17, and SABF22. The episodes mostly aired in broadcast season 25 on Fox, with six rollover episodes from the production season airing in broadcast season 26. The episodes aired from November 24, 2013 with "The Kid Is All Right", to November 9, 2014 with "Simpsorama".

Isabel Gutierrez, a new student at Springfield Elementary, causes a stir when she ends up running against Lisa in the second-grade debate, where Lisa discovers Isabel is a Republican. Isabel is hounded to partake in a future presidency campaign by the Springfield Republican Party.

While lamenting over being single, Comic Book Guy meets Kumiko, an attractive young Japanese woman and manga fan. The two of them get into a relationship and grow closer. But when Homer almost ruins their relationship by telling Kumiko's father about Comic Book Guy, Homer sets out to convince her father to accept their relationship.

Principal Skinner promises the students that the best-behaved among them can take a ride in a submarine. When Skinner gives all the kids a clean slate, Bart believes even his own past indiscretions will be forgotten if he doesn't get into any more trouble. Meanwhile, Lisa tries to help a cash-poor Krusty turn things around by suggesting he sell the foreign rights to his shows.

Homer becomes annoyed with movie theaters, so Bart teaches him how to download movies illegally. Homer is delighted with his discovery of free movies until he's caught for piracy. Deputy Director Gratman, the FBI's anti-piracy boss, is tasked with hunting down Homer, who stands accused of illegally downloading films.

Meanwhile, Bart takes a stand against buying Nelson a Valentine's Day card, despite buying one for every other kid in class.

On a research trip, Lisa is shocked to discover that Sideshow Bob is now the chief scientist at a massive chemical engineering company, but her fears are allayed as she becomes enamored with his like-minded appreciation of high culture. Meanwhile, Marge's attempt to preach healthy sexual practices to a teen church group goes awry.

Marge invites Grampa and two of his friends to live at the Simpsons' house after the Retirement Castle is closed for health violations, but she quickly becomes frustrated with Homer when he starts embracing the "old person lifestyle." Meanwhile, Bart is inducted into the school's bullies and attends a Bully Summit with them.

After Lisa's new pet guinea pig destroys the Simpsons' living room art, Marge falls in love with a beautiful painting at the Van Houtens' yard sale, which Homer snaps up for 20 bucks. But, when Lisa reveals it's by a famous early 20th century painter and could be worth $100,000, Marge and Homer face a dilemma: split the money with the Van Houtens, or keep the cash as a "cushion" for their kids.

The Simpson family goes to Brazil, where Homer's honesty is put to the test by one of the slickest South American gangsters in the soccer match-bribing business. Meanwhile, Marge struggles to learn enough Portuguese to communicate with people in Brazil.

Lisa is charmed when she meets competitive eater-in-training Lucas Bortner, and she agrees to help him with his "career." However, Marge is worried Lisa is falling for someone like Homer. Meanwhile, Bart saves Snake from the police, and in gratitude, Snake rewards him with stolen gifts.

After Homer dies falling down the stairs, Professor Frink reveals that he has cloned Homer. Every time a new clone comes in to replace the old, they die. Many years in the future, the Homer clones keep dying, Lisa is married to a zombie version of Milhouse, while Bart deals with custody issues with his ex-wife, Jenda.

Bart hates art class, and he uses voodoo to inadvertently impregnate his teacher. Word quickly spreads around, which leads people to believe that Bart has the ability to aid couples trying to conceive children. But Fat Tony also gets wind of this and kidnaps Bart and Homer, forcing them to breed a thoroughbred racing horse, but it appears the prospective father has other ideas.

Marge swears off befriending any more couples when Homer offends their charming new British neighbors. But when Lisa declares that she, too, doesn't need friends, she suddenly meets Tumi, a girl with many similar interests as Lisa.

In a crossover with Futurama, when a time capsule containing a sandwich with Bart's germs in it, Milhouse's rabbit's foot, and radioactive ooze causes a catastrophe in the future, the Planet Express crew comes to present-day Springfield to stop the Simpsons from creating the mess in the first place

This proves fruitless, so Marge signs them up for the Relation Ship, where they'll resolve their conflicts at sea. Meanwhile, Marge is left in charge of Homer's fantasy football league and manages to win despite being the underdog.

In "School Is Hell", Bart and Lisa are transported to a demon-filled alternate universe where Bart excels at his new school. In "A Clockwork Yellow", Moog's gang is disrupted when Dum (Homer) falls for a girl (Marge) who wants him to give up the thug life. Finally, in "The Others", the Simpson family are haunted by a family of ghosts, which turn out to be the family from the shorts, who were murdered and buried in the house.
