It was announced by FOX on November 11, 2010 that The Simpsons was renewed for season 23. It is scheduled to air from September 25, 2011 to Spring, 2012. The cast of "The Simpsons" will begin recording for Season 23 on March 3, 2011.

The season will have least two more Banksy-eseque gags.

Entering its 23rd season and approaching its milestone 500th episode in 19 February 2012, in the upcoming season, America's favorite family continues to entertain us with their wild and outlandish adventures as Marge becomes a popular food blogger, Homer and Bart write a fantasy novel in the hopes of capitalizing on Tween culture and Krusty gets his own show on a premium cable channel. Guest stars paying Springfield a visit this season include Michelin-starred celebrity chef and MASTERCHEF judge Gordon Ramsay, legendary comic and talk show host Joan Rivers and Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia.

Episodes

• NABF16 - "The Falcon and the D'ohman" An out-of-work agent similar to Jack Bauer (who is portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland) goes to Springfield to escape from people trying to kill him, however a YouTube video of him foiling a robbery brings him to the attention of an assailant. The episode will reveal the results of the 2011 Fox Simpsons fan initiative and whether Ned & Edna remain a couple.
• NABF17 - "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts" - Superintendent Chalmers hero is Theodore Roosevelt (whose voice will be taken from a 1918 speech and be credited)
• NABF20 - "The Food Wife" - Marge and the kids write a blog about food, leaving Homer feeling left out.
• NABF22 - "The Book Job" - Homer and some other Springfieldians have to perpetrate an Ocean's Eleven-style heist in the world of children's fantasy book publishing. Andy Garcia and Neil Gaiman guest star.
• PABF01 - "The Man in the Blue Flannel Pants"
• PABF02 - "The Ten-Per-Cent Solution" - Guest stars deadmau5.

• "Treehouse of Horror XXII" - October 30 2011 - Has a parody of the Dexter opening credits starring Ned Flanders. Aron Ralston will guest stars.
• "Holidays of Future Passed" Christmas 2011 - The 2011 Christmas special where we will see The Simpsons 30 years in the future in which Bart, Lisa and Maggie bring their own kids over to Homer and Marge's for Christmas.
• "Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson" - Ted Nugent runs for president. Guest starring Ted Nugent as himself.
• "Replaceable You" - Homer's assistant (voiced by Jane Lynch) tries to undermine him every step of the way and gets his job.
• "The D'oh-cial Network" - Lisa creates a social networking site in Springfield and gives too much credit to everybody. Armie Hammer guest stars as the Winklevoss twins, who row in the Olympics against Patty and Selma.
• "The Daughter Also Rises" - Nick (Michael Cera), a seemingly gallant boy who is a new student of Springfield Elementary, falls in love with Lisa on Valentine’s Day
• PABF07 - 500th episode - February 19 2012 - The Simpsons sneak into a secret town meeting to which they aren't invited and discover it's about whether to ban the family from Springfield. Directed by Matt Nastuk with storyboard by Luis Escobar
• "The Spy Who Learned Me" - Stradivarius Cain (Bryan Cranston), is a suave Hollywood superspy whom Homer sees as an illusion after suffering a head injury. Cain has a very important mission: to make Homer into a man that Marge can’t resist.
• "Lisa Goes Gaga" - Lady Gaga (Herself) makes a pit stop in Springfield after learning that it’s teeming with low self-esteem, and winds up trying to cheer up a dejected Lisa through the power of speech, song, and a flash mob.

• Mr. Burns has an iPad app called “Angry Burns.”
• One episode show follows the saga of Moe's bar rag (voiced by Jeremy Irons) over hundreds of years.
• Krusty gets his own show on a premium cable channel.
• There will be a parody of Inception with one dream level drawn in the style of The Simpsons shorts.
• Homer becomes addicted to a show similar to Lost.
