The Simpsons: Tapped Out Christmas 2014 content update was released on December 3, 2014, file-named "v4_12_XMAS2014". It was released under app version 4.12.0, and is the game's third Christmas event.

The event is split into two parts like the Halloween 2014 event, and the premise of the first part is to to send Elves and other characters on tasks at the Toy Workshop to earn Presents, which go towards completing Personal Prizes; the storyline focusing on the residents of Springfield helping to produce enough presents in time for Christmas. There is also Santa's Daily Tasks, where each day a new Tunnel will open up (of the Elf Cave), and you have to complete the tasks within that tunnel to earn a prize, which is different depending on which items you have obtained. This phase ends on December 24, 2014 (Christmas Eve) at 5pm (GMT).

The second part of the event, which begins as the first part ends, presumably involves the Elves used to "Make Toys" partying to celebrate a good Christmas present delivery, and then being deported after they were discovered to be illegal immigrants in the first part, by capturing them in bottles and using a cannon to 'deport' them. This phase ends with the event on January 18, 2015.

The event added new temporary currencies, Presents and Elf Bells. You can win prizes from collecting both currencies; in the first part of the event you can earn prizes from collecting Presents, in the second from Elf Bells.

On Christmas Day, December 25, there will be a special 24h long event starting from 12am (GMT).

Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 1 Upon installing, and after Santa appears: People of Springfield! Over the years I have made many promises, most of them contradictory, few of them kept. God bless you, voter apathy. But today I am proud to deliver on one promise: new jobs. Because Santa is opening a new toy workshop right here in Springfield! Thanks to global warming, the ice under my old workshop at the North Pole melted, and everything sank into the Arctic Ocean. It was a terrible catastrophe. Many holiday favorites died, including Frosty and Rudolph. I've been warning people about the threat global warming posed to Santa for years, but no one listened! But why come to Springfield? The tax incentives! You're practically paying me to move here. Finally someone takes the bait. All the other corporations backed out once they learned how Springfield workers lead the nation in sullen incompetence. Oh. Well, no matter. Everyone works hard for jolly old Saint Nick, because making presents isn't work, it's play! But you better double those incentives, Quimby. Done, Claus. Task: Build Toy Workshop - 2,000, 12h Quest reward: 100 and 10 Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 2 The Christmas event stuff appears: Ho, ho, ho! That's a fine looking workshop. We don't have much time until Christmas, so we'd better get started. Now, who'd like to come and make toys for me? All of us. I mean, we all already have jobs, but when something weird like this happens, we drop all that to participate in the latest thing. Excellent. Then everyone pick a favorite toy they'd like to make. Eyeball gouger! That's not a toy. Right, right. Ice pick sharpener? How about you stuff teddy bears. Yeah! I'll stuff their guts in right through their filthy little belly button holes! You know what, the position's been filled. The Winter 2014 Part 1 Guide appears. This appears: And now, the Toy Workshop has now permanent options for Homer and Lisa's aformentioned jobs. Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 3 After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark Homer! Look at this Sergeant Activity doll you just made. It's got a Malibu Stacy head. I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was wondering what's on the lunch menu at the cafeteria. It's always cookies and milk, except on Wednesday's there's gingerbread house. Hey, who are those cute little guys? Elves, of course. Thanks to my Springfield employees, I'm already behind schedule, so I asked a few elves to come help me out. They're adorable! But where do they come from? They live in secret underground caves, where they laugh and play and occasionally kidnap human babies. Task: Place The Elf Cave (500) After building, this appears: Quest reward: 100 and 10 After unlocking the four elves, they automatically get to work at the Toy Workshop - they "Make Toys" for 4h - the reward being 4 Presents and 45. Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 4 Ooh, this is fun! I'm in charge of the elves. Exactly the opposite. Meet Bismuth and Leopold. They're top-level elf efficiency experts, and they're here to get some kind of order into my toy production. Aw, they're the cutest bosses I've ever had! Get to work, slacker! Or you'll regret it! Ouch! They're whipping me with the toe coils of their elf slippers! Task: Make Homer Get Bossed Around by Elves (12h, Toy Workshop) Quest reward: 100 and 10 Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 5 After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: Whew. We finished our first week of work. I won't say it hasn't been a little rocky, but I'm still hoping for a pretty good Christmas. Now, here's your paycheck. Hey, this isn't money... it's candy canes! But I always pay in candy canes. The elves love them. Although their teeth are basically one giant cavity. Look, pal, I need real money to buy the necessities of life, like beer and lottery tickets. Until you pony up some cold hard cash, I'm going on strike. Task: Make Homer Go on Strike (24h, Toy Workshop) Okay, okay. Look, I'll take money out of my retirement account and pay you. Just means I'll have to keep working a few more centuries. Probably would've just got bored playing golf in Laguna Beach, am I right? Without work, life has no meaning, eh Homer? Wouldn't know. Now that I'm off striking I'm on break. Quest reward: 100 and 10 Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 6 After tapping on Lisa's exclamation mark: Lisa, why so glum? You know how you put me in charge of making up the lists of who's naughty or nice? Well, to handle this town, you're going to need a lot more lumps of coal. Like 200 metric tons more. Kringlenuts! Now I'm going to need even more elves. And they hate mining. That makes no sense. They live in caves. Yeah, well someone didn't think this story line out very well. Task: Make Lisa Compile Lists of Naughty and Nice Kids (12h, Toy Workshop) Quest reward: 100 and 10 Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 7 After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: Hurry up, Homer! You're working too slowly. You're holding up the bicycle assembly line for the other elves. But they work so fast, and they look so happy. Because the tinkling of the bells on their hats fills them with joy. Well it's driving me crazy. This toy shop sucks. I'm being insulted by elves, and I'm doing the thing a father hates the most... Assembling toys before Christmas. I'm going back to the nuclear plant! Task: Build Control Building and Make Homer Do a Plant Shift (16h, Control Building) Quest reward: 100 and 10 Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 8 After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: Simpson, welcome back to the nuclear plant. I am so glad to be out of that magical toy shop and back in the real world of extreme nuclear danger. There's been a few changes. I've hired a couple of efficiency experts with a lot of great ideas. Get to work, slacker! Or you'll regret it! Ouch! They're beating me with the bells on their elf hats. When you're done with that, here's your paycheck. Candy canes?! There do seem to be a lot of them around the town. They're even printing Elvish on the road signs and ATMs. I hate them, with their work ethic, and their taking jobs no one here wants and their sneaking in through tunnels. Homer, does that remind you of anything? Tunnel... rhymes with funnel... funnel cake? I was suggesting that if you have a problem with annoying immigrants, you might want to call Homeland Security. Of course. They must have funnel cake! Task: Make Homer Call Homeland Security (1h, Simpson Home) Quest reward: 100 and 10 Pixie Plight After completing Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 9: Mr. Claus, we understand you're employing illegal elviens. I heard they love to hide in other Springfields. Task: Send Federal Agents to Other Springfields [x3] After going to a friend's town: System Message Federal agents are investigating illegal elven immigration. So, Homer, you have a problem with illegal immigration, and you'd like us to clean them out? Yes. Catch all the elves that are making presents for children. Yup. Lock them up in detention centers for years. Okay. Separate them from their wives, families, jobs, everything that makes life worth living. Well... maybe not that. Too late! You never had a choice. My agents are on their way. Oh, why do the bad things I do always make me feel bad? You've been crying so hard, there's icicles in your beard. It's over, Lisa. Christmas is over. All I wanted was to bring joy to children. But thanks to Homer, I'm hopelessly behind on production, my elves are being deported, and I'm broke. It's not entirely his fault. You're the one who decided to relocate to Springfield. Well, I've had it. I quit! If you need me, I'll be at Moe's getting blitzed out of my mind. Another broken down old drunk comes to Moe's. Looks like Christmas came early for me. We’ll go to Moe’s. It’s a little dark and gloomy in there. And we live in underground caves. Pleease? Project After-Party Pt. 2

After tapping on Santa's exclamation mark: Homer, you fool. Don't invite the elves to party in Springfield! Have you heard about the town of Kitchimitchi, Florida? No. Of course you haven't! It was destroyed by Elf Spring Break 2007! What do we do? The elves come into town through their elf tunnel. We need something heavy to put on the hatch so they can't push it open. Something really heavy. Comically, ludicrously, impossibly heavy in a way no real thing could be. He's talking about you, dad. I’d originally planned to use it to blast myself to the moon, as in the famous book by Jules Verne, with science fiction and the “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-ea-ea”. There, helpful polar bears will shatter the bottles with a swipe of their mighty paws, freeing the elves to defend themselves from the bears’ insatiable hunger. Those poor elves, eaten by polar bears! When you have no other food, it will sustain you on long journeys, or all-night rave dances. Weird food made by magical creeps? I’ll try it. After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: SKIN-NER! Why are drunk elves cavorting naked on the monkey bars? One of them is Ralph, so it counts as a student learning about foreign cultures. Just have the Groundskeeper Willie get rid of those leprechauns. I’m Scottish, not Irish. I know nothing about the wee folk of the Celtic Tiger. But you know how to dynamite gophers, so improvise. After tapping on Lisa's exclamation mark: Lisa! I need your help to find another way besides the Elf Cannon to get elves out of Springfield. You agree with me it’s not humane? Oh I’m fine with blasting elves to who knows where, but the cannon is balanced for donuts, and no one is spending. The cheap bastards. We have to find a non-premium alternative, and with your expert knowledge I thought you could help. What expert knowledge? You’ve watched more “Happy Little Elves” TV shows than any girl in history. While you can learn a lot of important life lessons from TV… And freemium games. …I think we’re going to need to do a little more serious research. No one is sure why, but one theory is they want to be home in time to honor Doctor King. So you don’t have to use the Elf Cannon anymore! Okay, Lisa, I’ll stop. But I doubt Sky Finger will. That person obviously gets cruel kicks from blasting tiny helpless creatures into space. Sometimes I worry about our world. Task: Fire the Cannon Without Mercy (x9) Quest reward: 200 and 10

Project After-Party Pt. 11

After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: Well, Sky Finger continues to show no mercy. Although it is fun to watch those little guys fly. I just hope Sky Finger is careful. Announcing a new uniform for our special “Bright Future” students, Bart, Nelson, Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney. Episode tie-in questline

The full questline was deleted in the "Patch 1" update on December 5, therefore players only got the chance to receive Ice Princess Martin and Pt. 1 of the questline.
The Ice Palace was added back on "Promos" updated on December 22, therefore the questline resumed on Part 2 if the user buys the Ice Palace.

The Princess Nerd Pt. 1

After tapping on Martin's exclamation mark: Lisa, I heard that this year's Christmas couch gag will honor my favorite movie of all time. And I think that's great, because the couch gag is the most important part of the episode. Sixty percent of the viewers change the channel after it's done. Don't be silly. It's no more than fifty percent. Anyway, I was wondering... could I be in the couch gag this year? I've already got the beautiful dress that my favorite character wears. Sorry, Martin. Only Simpsons appear in the couch gag. And as the heart and soul of the show, if anyone is going to portray one of America's favorite heroines, it's going to be me. As an occasionally practicing Buddhist, I'm not sure I want to be part of this. Does Buddhism have angels? Well, there are the avatars of those who have passed beyond the circles of time and then returned to help others achieve Nirvana. Fine. You're an angel. Task: Collect Presents [x2000] After every 2,000 you accumulate: After selecting one of the boxes, you receive between 1-3, and if you don't get 3 can pay 50,000 to have a chance to win it on the other two boxes. It works exactly the same as the Bonus Level Ups, but with Presents, not XP.

Friend Visits

The Elves Fired Report Leaderboard

Your first 30 friend actions give you 5 bells each, actions 31 - 60 give 3 bells, actions 61 - 90 give 2, and actions 91 - 120 give 1 bell. After 120 actions (40 friends) you will not get any bells, with 1 exception (see below). This is the same concept as the presents in part 1 (and was done in the halloween event too), yet people seem to never realize there is a limit.

You now have the option to use a friend action to vandalize your friend's Elf Cannon and Elf Tunnels, and get double the elf bells. That means if it's in your first 30 actions, you'd get 10 bells, but vandalizing on actions 91 - 120 would only get you 2. You can only vandalize friends that have logged in since part 2 started. It also appears that if the friend is logged in when you vandalize the Elf Cannon, their screen will shake!

You can also clean the vandalism from a friend's cannon/tunnels, for a reward of 5 elf bells no matter how many actions you've previously used. It's not apparent whether or not you can clean your own vandalism, but I don't see anything stopping you. It might be necessary to exit and re-enter the town though.

The Leaderboard also come back. You can increase your score by firing elf-in-bottles with your cannon. With the scoreboard your able to compare your fired elves.

Yes, it's all explained in the last verse of the Rudolph song *singing* "If you eat some Rudolph pee, an elf you'll be for eternity." I never heard that verse. It's usually omitted for brevity. Feds The ability to release Feds into other Springfields is unlocked during "Pixie Plight". In a friend's town, a button appears in the top-right corner of the screen, offering you a chance to send 3 Feds to their town, using up your daily actions. After tapping on a Fed, it sprouts Cash, XP, Friend Points and Presents, and also the text "Bye Bye Federal Agent Called by [player name]" appears. [player name] is the player which released that Fed into your town. After finding all Feds a system message appears reading: "All Feds have been driven away, your town is safe. For now..." Whenever Feds are sent into your Springfield, a device notification is pushed, reading: "Your friends have sent the Feds to your Springfield. Thwart them to earn some Presents!" They're still subject to the limit of taps that give out Presents. The max number of Feds in a town at the same time is 20. You can't recieve anymore if you reach the limit and you can't place anymore in friend's towns if they reached the limit too. Too Many Feds! The Fed button that appears in the top-right corner of the screen when visiting a friend, in this case, offering three Feds to be dispensed. Santa's Daily Tasks An example of the Santa's Daily Tasks menu, with Tunnels 10-12 completed, Tunnel 13 ongoing, and Tunnel 14 locked. Santa's Daily Tasks are mini-quests that when completed award you with two prizes and if completed within 24 hours of starting the first task, Presents. There are nineteen tunnels in total. The tasks later on require the one previous to be completed, and the cash reward for which needs to be fully collected. For example, Task 3 needs Task 2 to be completed and the cash reward collected before it is unlocked in the Tunnel menu. This aspect of the event is akin to the Riddles aspect of the Stonecutters event. The final tunnel was unlocked on December 20, 2014 Completing all tasks unlocks an "exclusive character", Zutroy. A new tunnel was unlocked every day at 8am GMT. There is currently a glitch with Santa's Daily Tasks where pressing the button in the top-right corner or the Elf Cave won't make anything appear after first logging on after a new Tunnel was unlocked. Visiting Krustyland or the friends menu then returning seems to fix this glitch, which seems to have appeared after the "Patch 1"/"Patch 2" update. There has also been a report of Elves received from completing the tunnels not appearing. A button which appears in the top-right corner of your town which you can use to access the daily tasks. Check out the image on our Facebook page!, telling readers coyly that the Stupid Sexy Flanders costume would be available with the Ski Lift, in Part 2, which would begin the following day, and also giving them a chance to get another clue with a direct link to their Facebook page.

Sourced from TSTOTopix - "What Changed with the Christmas 2014 Update?" Santa's Village now gives 200 when placed instead of 85. It is also now treated as a premium building, although its earnings did not change. Kang has been added to the characters who have a "Drink at Moe's" task. Artie Ziff, Akira, and Giuseppe have been added to the Entrepreneur character group. Database is now a member of the Youngster and Brainiac character groups. Mr Teeny is now part of the Celebrity character group. Giuseppe has been added to the Senior group. George Washington is now a Celebrity and a Civil Servant. Princess Penelope is also a Civil Servant. The Barbarian is now a member of the Dimwit group. The Space Mutant has been added to the Glutton group. Uter, Greta Wolfcastle and Hugo are now part of the Youngster group. Santa Homer's 12h task to "Endure the Whiney Kids" now takes place at the Kwik-E-Mart rather than at the Try-N-Save. When built, Santa's Workshop now gives 50, Costington’s gives 145, the Eggnog Bar gives 50, Helter Shelter gives 50, ClausCo 60, the Springfield Skating Rink gives 50, and the Springfield Mall 60. Donut rewards following the earning of all Friend Points prizes have returned. The size of the Tunnel of Love in Krustyland has increased 2 squares in size.

• A new task was added for Santa, to "Eat Milk and Cookies" for 4h at the Toy Workshop, with a reward of 2 Presents and 45.
• The Ice Palace and the questline "The Ice Princess" were deleted, as was "Santa's List Pt. 7".
• There appears to be some sort of Donut Promo on December 22 that ends on 27.
• A 1-part quest for the Destroyed Holiday Wheel has also been added which gives you a small bit of dialog between Krusty and Homer and requires you to place the item. Initially placing the wheel was not a requirement.

The Rigellian Hut and the Little Black Box now gives Presents to friends that tap them. Requested donuts to speedup jobs for King Winter's jobs changed: "Go On A Date" and "Annoy Flanders" (requires 2 characters) doubled (it requested only the donuts for 1 character), "Explore King Winter's Cave" (requires 1 character) halved (it requested the donuts for 2 characters). Santa's jobs changed: "Eat A Santerrific Lunch" now requires Phase 1. "Get Drunk at Moe's" changed from temp to permanent, requires "Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 11". "Deliver Presents" changed from temp to permanent, requires "Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 15". Sponsored Church, Christmas Burns Manor, Christmas Compound, Christmas Wolfcastle's Mansion, Christmas Sanjay's House, Christmas Mansion Of Solid Gold, Christmas Crazy Cat House, Christmas Apu's Apartment, Christmas Wiggum Home now have sounds when tapped. The Kwik-E-Mart income has been removed from own town's Kwik-E-Mart, just to appear when you click on friend's Kwik-E-Mart. Scratch-Rs are still present. There is something referenced in the files to the Kwik-E-Mart with the event, it is unknown what it currently is. There originally were two requirements to begin the event and the main quest Jingle Bell Wreck: Reach level 6 and complete quest "myPad" which is a quest towards the beginning of the game. Now the only requirement to get the event quest and trigger the event is just to reach level 6. The "myPad" requirement has been removed. The icon for "Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 15" which will show in the taskbook while it is active is now the Homer Santa head. It originally was just the Santa Head icon. There has also been a small, unnoticable coding change made to activate the Feds aspect of the event. One of the tasks for Tunnel 8 has changed It used to be: "Have a Kook Check Out the Toy Workshop" and had a rush rate of 2. It now requires 3 characters of the Kook character group to complete the quest and has a rush rate of 6. For Tunnel 18, you no longer have to have reached Level 20 to complete that tunnel's tasks. The size of the panel for the "Winter 2014" section in the store was minimised to 1/3rd of its size, with a new design. A quest called "Santa’s List Pt. 7" was created, requiring 19 (all) Tunnels of the Santa Tasks to be completed.
