The fifteenth season of "The Simpsons" ran from November 2, 2003 to May 23, 2004. The DVD was released in the USA and Canada on December 4, 2012, released in Europe on December 3, 2012, and released in Latin America on December 12, 2012. The fifteenth season began with the episode "Treehouse of Horror XIV" and ended with "Fraudcast News".

In the 14th annual Halloween special, Homer bludgeons the Grim Reaper to death, assuming the ghastly ghoul's role, armed with a scythe and a scroll listing residents of Springfield, including Marge; Professor Frink learns he will be awarded the Nobel Prize, leading Lisa to retrieve Professor Frink Senior from the cryonics lab, reviving his body with human body parts from various Springfield residents, including Flanders and Skinner; and Bart and Milhouse discover a watch that can stop time. They use their new ability to play a variety of pranks on the residents of Springfield, bit when one of their pranks backfire, Bart and Milhouse find that they are the only two people left on Earth and their repair manual is written is German.

On his first show, Homer and his guests Lenny, Moe and Carl win over the audience by talking about everyday subjects like donuts. Meanwhile, Krusty holds his Bar Mitvah at the Isotope Stadium and invites Mr. T to read from the Torah.

With his new change of heart and holiday spirit, Homer begins doing favors for anyone he can, and in doing so makes Flanders jealous as Homer is Springfield's new king of nice. Flanders and Homer engage in a "nice-off" to earn the town's praise.

To help out, Marge gives the kids verbal anecdotes about historical figures including tales of King Henry VIII, Sacagawea's assistance to the Lewis and Clark Expedition and a very Bart-like Mozart feuding with his sister Salieri.

Bart is heartbroken when Milhouse and his mother move away to Capital City. Desperate to fill Milhouse's shoes, Bart attempts to find a new best friend with no such luck. Later, Bart decides to pay Milhouse a visit and is shocked to see his once meek best friend has reinvented himself. The new Milhouse sports spiked blond hair, is popular and even gives Bart a wedgie in the halls at school. Meanwhile, Homer pretends to be poor to get money off strangers.
