Sweden is a Nordic country in Northern Europe on the Scandinavian Peninsula.

History[edit]

When Homer started his tour with The Be Sharps, he said that he couldn't tell anyone that Marge was his wife until they finished their tour of Sweden.[1]

When Homer had bypass surgery he told Marge that the America's health care system is second only to Japan, Canada, Sweden, Great Britain and all of Europe.[2]

When Homer told Moe he wanted to try something special, Moe added two dots to the label on a bottle of Duff and tried to pass it off as "Düff", a beer from Sweden.[3]

Lisa told Principal Skinner that in Swedish public schools, the students grade teachers on their performance.[4]

Bart made a prank phone call to a bar in Sweden after finding actor Denis Leary's cell phone.[5]

A Swedish team entered the 2010 Winter Olympics for the curling event and came in second place, getting the silver medal.[6]

Groundskeeper Willie tells Bart about his new girlfriend, a bikini model from Sweden, which Bart sarcastically concurs since he does not believe him, but immediately upon Bart leaving Inga emerges from Willie's shack.[7]

The Nobel Prizes were held in Stockholm and Professor Frink won one of the awards but the ceremony was ruined after his father started to kill everyone.[8]

Smithers is suspected of being the heirless King of Sweden's illegitimate son after their uncanny resemblance is notice while he is food shopping in Springfield's Little Stockholm. Springfield agrees to become a Swedish Protectorate if his royal heritage is confirmed.[9]

At the 4th of July‎ thought Homer at Sweden was the greatest nation on Earth.[10]

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Both Frenchman Jacques the bowling instructor[11] and Scotsman Groundskeeper Willie[12] were both originally intended to be Swedes.
