Mayor Quimby announced the opening of the Springfield Academy Museum at the 35th Springie Awards ceremony. He told everyone that the museum was closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and that entry was free, but parking cost $99.

The museum had models of the Lard Lad statue, the statue of Jebediah Springfield, and the Springfield Tire Yard.
