Synopsis[edit]

"After public humiliation forces him to doubt his own intelligence, Homer forms an internet group devoted to solving the mystery behind the disappearance of a tortoise from the Springfield Zoo but finds something much more sinister."

Plot[edit]

Mayor Quimby is holding a debate about no longer celebrating Columbus Day due to Christopher Columbus' problematic behavior, and everyone agrees except the people of Italian origins. Afterwards, he lets Helen Lovejoy takes the stand, debating over DYI free libraries appearing all over town, debating over the possibility of them holding books like the Kamasutra. Homer stands up proposing to take them all in one place where everyone can read them, and people laughs in his face to his proposal of creating a library, where the debate is being held.

To make Homer feel better, Marge takes the whole family to the Springfield Zoo, where even animals think he's dumb. They eventually reach Slow Leonard, which is missing and they're approached by the zoo director. He tries to talk the director into searching for the turtle but is talked down and takes it personally and at home finds a possible clue on how it possibly got captured. He goes to the Police Station presenting the evidence but even Chief Wiggum thinks he's dumb and doesn't take him seriously.

Marge proposes Homer to check Facelook if there's any group about it and he finds the Lost Leonard! group. Homer begins posting pictures of his evidence and everyone agrees so he goes back to the zoo to live stream his research there. The exhibition has been replaced by Pete the prairie dog's. Taking a better look at the surroundings Homer finds a house in front of the zoo with a door cam, Chalmers' house. He invites Chalmers to the group and they organize a meeting at the Simpson House.

Homer prepares paella and the room, including a TV and an evidence board and the guests arrive. The guest love his paella and start posting their idea on the board and then go to the zoo director house to protest. There, Gil proposes to Ms. Hoover and she accepts. Back at home, while talking about the wedding and the protest, Slow Leonard appears in the kitchen and Homer confesses. He found the turtle in a rabbit hole after falling down a ravine in the zoo. He didn't bring it up to the group otherwise it'd have ended.

In the end Marge calls him dumb after he refuses to tell the truth so he goes to the wedding, alone. After the wedding, they start planning on schemes to make the zoo director release the turtle but they've become too dangerous and Homer tries to stop them. When they turn against him, Marge arrives with it, and they try to prove its a robot, but Homer opens their eyes.

They start disassembling, including Gil and Ms. Hoover, however Homer brings forward the idea of finding another mystery to keep the group together, find out where Calamari comes from and talk about the show the cartoon show that can predict the future. Inside the ball of yarn they're using a camera is seen, linking it to McClellan's, the producers of the yarn, watching conspiracy groups all around the world, with McClellan exclaiming their sale is on the roof thanks to them. In the end, Homer record a Tik Tok video for preparing his conspiracy-meeting paella.
