- The episode title is a reference to the 1988 comedy film Married to the Mob. Married to the Blob was also the title of a segment of "Treehouse of Horror XVII".
- Commissioner Sweeney is a parody of Commissioner Gordon.
- The Death of Radioactive Man is a parody of The Death of Superman.
- Homer mentions Jimmy Kimmel Live! and said he doesn't want to miss the back-part of the show.
- At the Android's Dungeon:
- Clocks for Vulcan from Star Trek and Krypton, Superman's home planet and Bizarro Earth are seen. The Bizarro Earth clock runs backwards.
- Milo mentions that he:
- Wrote a Lost fan-fiction finale that also answered all the questions from Twin Peaks.
- Re-ranked all the Doctor Who's by the puffiness of the hair.
- Badgerine is a parody of Wolverine.
- Krusty is seen frozen in carbonite in the Android's Dungeon.
- In Comic Book Guy's song, he has a comic of The Amazing Spider-Man featuring Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson and Doctor Octopus and a Lois Lane comic for the wedding special between Lois Lane and Superman.
- The Spider-man comic is a parody of issue 131.
- Mourners on the cover of the "Death of Radioactive Man" comic include Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama.
- When Milo starts singing in Comic Book Guy's song, he mentions a cardboard cutout of Scarlett Johansson, who is dressed as Black Widow in her outfit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Stan Lee says that he can only watch and that he cannot interfere, referencing the Watcher from Marvel Comics.
- The Just Us League is a reference to the Justice League. A parody of Wonder Woman appears on the poster.
- Joss Whedon appears on the poster for the Just Us League, the creator, producer and director of several sci-fi, superhero and supernatural shows and movies, notably The Avengers.
- Comic Book Guy gives Kumiko flowers in a Hulk hand.
- Comic Book Guy says that the closest thing he has to a father is the Ob-Wan doll in his store.
- At the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con costume contest, Kumiko dresses as Sailor Moon from Sailor Moon and Comic Book Guy dresses as a Stargate from Stargate SG-1. Kumiko then jumps though the Stargate and is dressed as a Gryffindor student from Harry Potter.
- Comic Book Guy says that at last they will be in the same bed, just like Batman and Robin.
- Comic Book Guy says "Now I know I have a heart, because it's breaking... Wizard of Oz reference! Did I do that? Urkel reference! Help me. The Fly reference!".
- Yutaka Nakamura is dressed as an E-3PO droid from Star Wars at Comic Book Guy and Kumiko's wedding.

- The number plate on the wall in Chuck Dukewagon's All American Chow Lounge says SABF03, the production code for the episode.
- Richard's mother is seen in this episode, she was previously seen in "YOLO"; however, it was not known that she was Richard's mother at the time.
- The Spider-man comic depicts Doc Ock with blond hair and Mary-Jane with black hair, though in the comics Ock has brown hair and Mary-Jane has ginger hair.
