Characters Who Need Articles

Stuff to Work On

  • Remove all unrelated red links from pages.
  • Remove any article that is off topic.
  • Upload good images of characters.
  • Make this wiki the best wiki in the dimension.
  • Make articles on all named characters no matter how minor.
  • Make articles on all guest stars.
  • Finish up the contentless episode pages.
  • Add templates to all character pages, episode pages, guest star pages, voice actor pages, and other pages.
  • Make more templates.
  • Make pages on all non-fan made video games

Articles That Should Be Deleted ASAP

Main Article: Wikisimpsons:Speedy deletions

Editing Tips

  • If you see two alike pages put #REDIRECT[[Page name here]].
  • If you copy an article from Wikipedia remove any unrelated external links before crazy users make them articles.
  • Please place a page category at the bottom. To do so put [[Category:Category Name Here]].
  • Be sure what you make is relevant and Simpsons related. I do not want stuff that has to do with Family Guy and other stuff.
  • Do not copy the whole article from Wikipedia. You can only do it if a page is new or if the article is crud. If the article is good put Wikipedia exclusive content on the page and put it with the regular article.
  • If you make a character page post the character's picture ASAP. If there is not one do not be afraid to upload an image. It will not harm your computer.
  • Can't find good images. Go to Simpsons related websites or Wikipedia and get some. Just do not use Simpsonpedia. You can also use screenhunter for free images.
  • If there is an article that should be deleted tell an administrator and post it on his talk page. See Wikisimpsons:Administrators for admins you can ask for help.
  • Do not post any crud such as random strings of letters and numbers or unrealated articles. I will ask an admin to delete it.
  • Do not search articles for external links. Use the search box to find what you need.
  • To get an external link on your page put [[page name here]].
  • If you want to put examples just like I did put <nowiki> whatever you want to ignore here</nowiki>.
  • If you see the stub template on a page expand it ASAP.
  • If a character's picture is a screenshot search the web for a better picture.
  • Remember spell external link names correctly.
  • If you make a section on an article that is about an upcoming episode that has not been heard about yet give it a source or it will be removed as I will consider it fake.
  • Category:Minor characters is only for characters who appeared in one or two episodes. Any character who appeared more than once (minor background appearances do not count) go in Category:Characters
  • Only make articles on named characters. Basic Example: Homer Simpson, Advanced Example: Blue-Haired Lawyer.
  • To tell people a new fact is real fact {{fact}} to have this come up next to your fact.[citation needed]
  • To tell people you want an article to be deleted place {{Delete}} to have a deletion reminder placed on a page. Look on the section below for kinds of articles that should be deleted.
  • Always place categories on pages all kinds of articles should have categories. Pages that do not have categories are the ones that should be deleted.
  • When placing Simpsons Movie appearances on a characters page do not put the angry mob scene there as every character from the first 16 seasons was in the mob.

Unpermitted Articles and Images

Wikisimpsons does not allow these articles or Images.

  • Articles that do not have to do with The Simpsons. I.E. Family Guy
  • Articles on nameless characters. I.E. Omnitouch Representitive.
  • Innapproprate images. Example:Images that are not related to the Simpsons or pornagrpahic ones even if they are simpsons related. They are almost what got SUN FAC banned from Wikia.
  • Images from Simpsonpedia. These images are considerd original images.
  • Articles that appear to be similar to other ones. If you find one that is similar it should be deleted or at least redirected to the similar article.

The Sins of Wikisimpsons

Never ever put these on articles.

  • Speculation: Only place true facts on articles. This is how rumors get started. Example: Season 11 is coming out on DVD in July 2008.
  • Point of View: Never put your own opinion on an article and do not insert yourself. You can only use point of view on talk pages, your user page, or the Sandbox. Example: Homer rocks!
  • Spam: Never place any useless links on a page. Example: [[http://insert useless link here.com]].
  • Nonsense: Never place anything that makes no sense at all on a page. Example: Asdddklsdajljfoaeoisdafuifweuoirfsdjklsdklfjeafoiwearfjiosadfjklsadfjklsdaf.

Articles That Need Expansion

Main Article: Category:Stubs

Page Layout

Characters

  • Major Characters: Should have sections on important facts revealed about them, various personality traits, character orgins, and if revealed a little on the character's past. Do not add quotes or lists as they mess up the balance of the page.
  • One-Time Characters: Should have a section on their appearance, a section on minor appearances, character orgins, and upcoming appearances.
  • Minor Characters: Should have the same layout as one-time characters.

Episodes

  • Tracey Ullman Shorts: A section on the plot summary of the short just with major details, and trivia section with facts about first appearances or characters who did not appear or speak in the short.
  • Episodes: A section on the plot summary of the episode with just major details, a trivia section, a section on errors (do not name the section goofs), a section on cultural references, a section on production notes, and a section on veiwer reception. Do not copy the plot from Wikipedia as Wikipedia summaries are written in an out of universe style meaning that minor plot details are placed in the plot as well. Also, do not put quotes on episode pages as they kind of mess up pages. Quotes should stick in Wikiquote.
  • Itchy and Scratchy Episodes: Should have a plot summary, and a trivia section.
