It was announced by FOX on November 11, 2010 that The Simpsons was renewed for season 23.[2] It is scheduled to air from September 25 2011[3] to Spring, 2012. The cast of "The Simpsons" will begin recording for Season 23 on March 3, 2011.[4]

Information about this season was added in Fox.com: Entering its 23rd season and approaching its milestone 500th episode in 19 February 2012, in the upcoming season, America's favorite family continues to entertain us with their wild and outlandish adventures as Marge becomes a popular food blogger, Homer and Bart write a fantasy novel in the hopes of capitalizing on Tween culture and Krusty gets his own show on a premium cable channel. Guest stars paying Springfield a visit this season include Michelin-starred celebrity chef and MASTERCHEF judge Gordon Ramsay, legendary comic and talk show host Joan Rivers and Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia.[5]

The season will have least two more Banksy-eseque gags.[6]

Episodes

Few content has been revealed for now. Some plots were confirmed by websites. TV Squad revealed that season 23 will feature a 2011 Christmas special where we will see The Simpsons 30 years in the future in which Bart, Lisa and Maggie bring their own kids over to Homer and Marge's for Christmas.[7] It was later confirmed by eBay that the title of this episode is "Holidays of Future Passed". "Simpsons Collector Sector" was able to take a look at the table read for an episode called "The Food Wife", in which Marge and the kids write a blog about food.[8] Enertainment Weekly revealed a plot for an episode called "Replaceable You", in which Homer's assistant (voiced by Jane Lynch) tries to undermine him every step of the way and gets his job.[9] Neil Gaiman posted photos on TwitPic about his work on a Simpsons episode, in which he will guest star. One of these photos reveals the cover of the script for this episode, with the title "The Book Job".[10] The episode, among some other episodes produced for Season 22, is likely to air in Season 23. Karl Pilkington is set to guest star in an episode.[11]

Season 22's season finale, "The Ned-Liest Catch", opened the 2011 Fox Simpsons fan initiative, in which fans will vote on the future of Ned Flanders' relationship with Edna Krabappel. The results will be revealed in Season 23's season premiere.

Some titles that were revealed during Season 22 were left over to Season 23, which are "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts", "The Falcon and the D'ohman" and "Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson".

Other titles were know to be aired in Season 23 because of their production code (PABF), which are "The Man in the Blue Flannel Pants" and "The Ten-Per-Cent Solution".

In "The D’oh-cial Network" creates Lisa a social network site in Springfield and gives too much credit to everybody. The episode also does involve the Winklevoss twins played by Armie Hammer, rowing in the Olympics against Patty and Selma.[12] Recently, Enterteinment Weekly revealed another title, "The Daughter Also Rises", in which Michael Cael will guest star as Nick, Lisa's next boyfriend, but who later turns out not to be what he seems. The ”Treehouse of Horror” episode have a parody of the Dexter opening credits starring Ned Flanders.[6] The family will also this season journey to their seventh and final continent, Antarctica, and in one episode, Mr. Burns has an iPad app called “Angry Burns.”[6] One episode show follows the saga of Moe’s bar rag over hundreds of years.[6]

The 500th episode is now scheduled to air on February 19, 2012.[13] In the episode is the a secret town meeting some the Simpsons aren’t invited to, and then they sneak in and they find out it’s a meeting discussing whether to ban them from Springfield, because people are so sick of them after all this time.[6]
