Season 38 is an upcoming season of The Simpsons. It will start in Fall 2026. It was confirmed on April 2, 2025, along with Season 37, 39 and 40.[1][2][4][5]

A British children's book author comes to Springfield to give a talk at Springfield Elementary School. Homer is tasked with picking her up from the airport, but things go bad from there.[6]

The producers wanted to make "Treehouse of Horror" episodes genuinely scary. There will be a stop-motion sequence by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios that is a parody of A Nightmare Before Christmas. One segment will be a mashup between the film Freaky Friday and the Stephen King book Pet Sematary where Bart and Santa's Little Helper swap bodies.[6]

  • Rachel Bloom and Gustavo Dudamel will guest star.[9]
  • An episode will have Bart and Lisa adopt a baby chimp. Homer becomes obsessed with the monkey tearing off his face when the monkey is older. Homer has a vivid dream sequence where his face is gone, goes to hospital, has his face reattached to his groin by monkey surgeons. Producers joke that the episode will traumatize kids.[6]
