The Michael Jackson Expressway, formerly Route 401 and Dalai Lama Expressway is an expressway in Springfield.

History

Route 401 was renamed the Dalai Lama Expressway when the Dalai Lama visited Springfield back in 1952. When Michael Jackson visits, Mayor Quimby declares it renamed again, this time to the Michael Jackson Expressway.[1]

A Laramie 100's cigarette truck was hijacked at the expressway.[2]

The Grateful Gelding Stables is located on Route 401.[3]

Santa's Little Helper is seen going down Michael Jackson Expressway.[4]

Spinal Tap mentioned the Route 401 during their concert at the Springfield Coliseum.[5]
