- Homer is dressed as a trash bin version of Bender from Futurama.
- Maggie is dressed as Charlie Chaplin, but afterwards she changes to her look as Alex from A Clockwork Orange and turns to violence towards the bad guys.
- Homer has a election pin with "Ivanka 2028" written on it. This is a reference to Donald Trump daughter, Ivanka Trump.
- Frank Grimes mentions that this is the 600th episode saying "In hell they make you watch them all in a row". This is a reference to the FXX 13 days marathon, showing all the episodes of the show in a row.
- The lion on the left has a Guy Fawkes mask and the store is named "V. Appliances and Repairs", both referencing V for Vendetta in which the Guy Fawkes mask figures prominently.
- The lion on the right has a Darth Vader mask, referencing Star Wars.
