A stand for Wax Lips was at a candy convention attended by Homer. The stall clerk told Homer it was the candy of a thousand uses, an example of which was a humorous substitute for one's own lips. When Homer asked for more examples, the clerk, unable to think of any, claimed he was needed in the basement, and pretended to walk down some steps. Homer then proceeded to steal a large quantity of lips.[1]

Nelson, Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney stole a box from the Kwik-E-Mart labelled "Labios Calientes", which they thought was Mexican beer, but was in fact Wax Lips (labios calientes is the Spanish term for "hot lips"). Bart caught them in the act on camera, which led to their conviction and enabled him to appear as a "squealer" on the TV show "Kids Commit the Darndest Crimes!".
