Cultural references
- The segment Wanted: Dead, Then Alive's title is a reference to Wanted Dead or Alive, which has a lot of meanings through popular culture.
- The segment Homerzilla's title and the segment itself are parody of the original 1954 Godzilla and the 1998 American remake and subsequent renaming of that film's monster to Zilla.
- Disco Stu was singing "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" (with the lyrics changed "ole" to "old") by Tony and Dawn Orlando before Homerzilla destroyed the power lines.
- The segment Telepaths of Glory's title is a reference to the movie Paths of Glory, as well to the season 27 episode Paths of Glory.
- Bart's mask in the couch gag is a mask of Huckleberry Hound.

- Kang and Kodos break the fourth wall talking about making a cameo appearance, 4:3 and season 4.
- This episode is the first "Treehouse of Horror" episode not to feature a title card and the first to have two segments linked together (Homerzilla and Telepaths of Glory, both having Homerzilla).
- The production code TABF18 appears on the tests that Sideshow Bob is correcting as the course number.
- One of the pre-release images for Telepaths of Glory have Lisa playing various instruments with her powers while Homer and Bart watch her. But in the final version, Bart is not present and Homer interrupts her, saying that "The musicians union does not allow this!", which makes her drop all the instruments.
- Gracie Films logo's scream was replaced by Homerzilla roaring.
Goofs
- When Lisa and Santa's Little Helper first look into the window and see Bart in the basement, there are no bars on the window but when the camera angle changes in the next scene, the bars appear.
- After Sideshow Bob tried the reanimator machine for the first time, there's a skull with two wires connected to its eye holes on the background. After the second test, however, it's gone.
- During the montage, the word "Reanimate" on the machine appears only when Sideshow Bob pulls the lever, but when the family rescues Bart, it's shown in its normal position.
- Due to Homerzilla eating all of the donuts, it's unlikely the fishes were getting fat and ugly because of them.
- The title is inaccurate as Bart, Lisa and Milhouse gain telekinesis rather than telepathy.
- Milhouse killed Dolph by throwing him on a volcano, but he reappears later at the "whack-a-mole" game with the other bullies.
