The Waterfront is the name given to Springfield's boardwalk and those businesses in its vicinity.
History[edit]
The Waterfront was once the center of a thriving squid-gutting industry decades ago. It was then abandoned by all except a few longshoremen and allied trades people.[1]
Mr. Burns chose to build his casino on the Waterfront.[1] After a week of success, however, it was forgotten. Yet, the town bothered to bring it when they moved.[2]
The Waterfront was revived again when an upscale shopping promenade the Springfield Squidport was built.[3]
