Synopsis[edit]
Plot[edit]
Homer asks Lisa what happened to his macaroni and cheese, to which Lisa says that she used the macaroni for her famous women in herstory diorama for Marge's birthday. Homer tells Lisa that it's not Marge's birthday, pointing to a calendar that says January 2nd. Lisa tells Homer that he hasn't changed that calendar in three years. Homer then asks Bart what he got for Marge's birthday, and Bart shows him a drawing of the family that he made. Homer asks if he could also use that idea, but Bart tells him that it's something only a child could get away with.
Homer goes to the Springfield Mall, which is closing in an hour, to look for a gift, but he gets distracted by the Dip Your Arm in Caramel store. By the time he gets out, the shops have all closed, so Homer goes to the Kwik-E-Mart, but Apu doesn't have anything that Marge would like. Homer's next stop is Moe's Tavern, where Moe offers him a jar of pickled eggs for Marge, which he declines. Homer then goes home and wraps a bow around his head, telling Marge that it's the thought that counts and that his head is full of thoughts about how much he loves her. Marge thinks the gift is sweet, and Bart and Lisa reluctantly agree.
