Season 36 is an upcoming season of The Simpsons. It will start on September 29, 2024. It was confirmed on January 26, 2023, along Season 35.^[2][3]

• One of the first episodes will be a sequel of sorts to "22 Short Films About Springfield" - with a twist.^[12][54]
• One episode in the first half of the season will be dedicated to Ned Flanders reflecting on the deaths of Maude Flanders and Edna Krabappel, because it's "never too late to emotionally address a past trauma".^[54]
• One episode will reference the court room scene from the film Anatomy of a Fall.^[55]
• There are not plans of another cannon halloween episodes for now.^[56]
• One of the specials is based on female driven SNL-like sketches. In a scene, Homer's reluctance to purchase feminine hygiene products for Marge, so the store employees sing a big number to shame him.^[57][58]
