"Step Brother from the Same Planet" is the eighth episode of broadcast season 34 of The Simpsons and the seven hundred thirty-sixth episode overall. It originally aired on November 20, 2022. The episode was written by Dan Vebber and directed by Matthew Faughnan. It guest stars Carol Kane as Blythe and Melissa McCarthy as Calvin.
Synopsis[edit]
- Homer is stunned by his feelings of rage and resentment when Grampa becomes a doting stepfather to his girlfriend's quirky young son. Meanwhile, Lisa and Bart throw the ultimate slumber party in Grampa's room at the Retirement Castle.
Plot[edit]
The Simpson family go to the Art in the Park event, where Lisa bumps into Sherri, Terri, and Janey, who are doing a scavenger hunt for Francine's birthday party. They attend Art in the Park to get a picture of something sad. When Lisa realizes she hasn't been invited because she's a party narc, they take a picture of Lisa. Meanwhile, Marge buys a small wooden box and some polish for it, which contains carnauba wax. At the same time, Homer sees an old man with a man bun and starts mocking him—until he realizes it's Grampa. Grampa introduces Homer and Marge to his new girlfriend, Blythe, who he's been seeing for six months. They meet at the Retirement Castle, where Blythe is hired to cleanse the residents' auras with a therapeutic sound bath. Grampa also reveals that he's moving in with Blythe.
