A Panda Cone is a type of ice cream cone that was served at the Panda-Monium! exhibit at the Springfield Zoo.

Description

A panda cone consists of three scoops of ice cream (white, black, and white again) placed on top of a cone to resemble a panda's body. Then smaller bits of black and white ice cream are placed on the top scoop to form the details of the panda's face.

History

The panda cones were served at the Panda-Monium! exhibit, which was held in honor of the arrival of the zoo's new female panda, Sim-Sim, thanks to "an anonymous donor". In reality, Sim-Sim was Homer Simpson in disguise and the whole exhibit was a practical joke by Mr. Burns, the so-called anonymous donor. The panda cones, however, proved to be a genuine big hit with the crowd of zoogoers at the exhibit.

Milhouse attended the exhibit with his father Kirk and asked him for money to buy a panda cone. At the time, Kirk and Milhouse's mother Luann were separated and Kirk was sending them support payments, so Kirk indignantly asked, "What does your mother do with the $68 I send her every month?!" to which Milhouse replied, "'Weekday Dad' wanted a DVD player."
