Season 24 has been mentioned by show runner Al Jean in interview videos. This season was renewed along with a 25th season.[1]

"Treehouse of Horror XXIII" (PABF17)

Plans for "Treehouse of Horror XXIII" include:

  • Back to the Future story about when Homer met Marge, and the alternate turnout of Marge's marriage. Artie Ziff returns.

  • PABF16[2] - Pre-record Alf Clausen produced songs for PABF16, and Chris Ledesma (in early September 2011) edited and delivered pre-records for PABF16.
  • Anika Noni Rose plays a love interest from Grampa's past and happens to be a night club singer.[3]
  • A Fat Tony episode guest starring Steve Carell who plays Dan Gillick, Fat Tony's accountant turned mob boss, when Fat Tony serves jury duty. Dan winds up joining Pin Pals as a replacement for Otto, who has suffered a psychotic breakdown.[4]
  • Written by Michael Price, one episode explores the life of Roger Meyers, Jr. and his struggle with trying to live up to the memory of his father.[5]
  • Bart becomes "a kind of babysitter" for Jimbo's girlfriend Shauna.[5]
  • There will be a touching story involving Homer and Santa's Little Helper.[5]
  • Itchy and Scratchy Land closes down and Homer and Bart get a small steam train from the park, restore it and install it in their back garden. This attracts the attention of fellow model-train enthusiasts like Rev. Lovejoy and Comic Book Guy, who at first just want to help out, but then end up taking over.[6]
