Food/Drink Information
Type: Snack food
Town: Springfield
First appearance: "Homer Loves Flanders"

A Nacho hat is a snack food that has been sold at sporting events in Springfield.

Description

The nacho hat is a single large crispy corn tortilla in the shape of a wide-brimmed hat. The top of the hat has a bowl-shaped depression which holds nacho cheese. The eater consumes the hat by breaking off pieces of tortilla from the brim (and eventually the sides) of the hat, dipping them into the cheese at the top, and then eating them.

History

Homer attended the Pigskin Classic as Ned Flanders's guest. During the game, Ned bought Homer an enormous quantity of food and drink. Among the items was a nacho hat, which particularly pleased Homer.[1]

The Simpson family attended a Springfield Isotopes game, and all of them (except Bart) had nacho hats.[2]
