Synopsis[edit]
- An elderly British secret agent, Terrance, comes to Springfield in search of the Grey Fox, a Russian spy. He suspects that Grampa is the elusive spy and enlists Homer's help to take him down.
Plot[edit]
In London in 1970, at the Office of MI5 security service, Terrance searches for an American working for Russia, code name: Grey Fox, who lives in a town with a nuclear plant. Fifty years pass before he finally connects the dots to Abe Simpson.
At the Retirement Castle, the residents wake up to find that Louise has been brought back home by her family. They start arguing over who will get her room, only to learn it has already been bought. Homer and Abe go to check the room and find that Terrance has purchased it.
To get Homer to listen to him, Terrance offers drinks to him and his friends at Moe's. After revealing his intentions, Marge enters the bar, and they leave. That night, Terrance calls to ask Homer to come see him and learn the truth about Abe.
At the Retirement Castle, Terrance shows Homer evidence that Abe might be the Grey Fox. After convincing him, he takes Homer to the harbor, dresses up as an old woman, and spies on Abe. They watch as Abe grabs a different cane from another man and receives a package of money from two Russian men.
Abe walks away singing about receiving a secret envelope while Terrance and Homer spy on him from a Ferris wheel. After Abe leaves, they follow him, while Orson Welles drunkenly boards the Ferris wheel. At the Retirement Castle, Homer wakes Abe and tries to sneak him out before Terrance arrives, but Terrance intercepts them and hides them in the car's hood.
Abe explains to Homer that he switched canes because he is old and senile, and the men who gave him the envelope are actually Canadians delivering his blood pressure medication. Marge and the kids arrive at the castle and meet Terrance's daughter, who frightens them when she mentions that her father kills people.
In the end, the police stop the car and rescue Homer and Abe, arresting Terrance for kidnapping. To save him, Abe pretends to be the Grey Fox and gets arrested instead. Homer and Terrance drive back to town. At home, Lisa hears Russian coming from Maggie's room, but Maggie reveals that her animal sounds toy is made in Russia.
