Hi Solar! I put the Wikisimpsons christmas logo, but the page still continues with the normal logo. So please, fix the problem. --BTony70099 (talk) 15:37, December 1, 2013 (EST)

The main logo is from a different source and Jake has to change it himself, along with the skin. Jake's been fairly busy with college recently so he hasn't had time to get the Christmas skin up but he should do in the next few days. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 17:22, December 1, 2013 (EST)

Question...[edit]

Excuse, me I have just started an official account. How can I get clearance to edit a semi-protected article? Do I have to wait a few days, I've already done 10 edits.--Spare-tire (talk) 21:55, December 1, 2013 (EST)

You have to wait a set number of days after making a certain number of edits. Both are undisclosed to try and stop users making random crappy edits that do nothing just to get the ability to edit semi-protected articles. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 05:02, December 3, 2013 (EST)
How many days? --Spare-tire (talk) 16:19, December 3, 2013 (EST)
Did you actually read the comment I wrote? I said it's undisclosed to stop users making random crappy edits. The Solar Dragon 16:31, December 3, 2013 (EST)
That's the point, I don't intend to do that. I should be allowed access to all pages having an authorized account. --Spare-tire (talk) 16:48, December 3, 2013 (EST)
Well, when I say "undisclosed", truth is, it's so undisclosed that I don't even know what it is. :P I think it's either 5, 7 or 10 days though. Not sure which one, if any, is correct. The Solar Dragon 16:50, December 3, 2013 (EST)

Spam users[edit]

You know the users that keep registering and put really strange/in-depth personal information on their user pages? I have reasons to believe they are spammers. Surely no-one would reveal such personal info on a wiki, one user page I came across posted an in-depth address. What do you think? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 11:48, December 7, 2013 (EST)

They're spammers, all right. We've been blocking them and deleting the pages if they post anything with an off-the-wall link in it. If you come across one posting PII such as a street address, go ahead and slap a Speedy Delete tag on it and it'll get the same treatment. -- Mythigator (talk) 12:08, December 7, 2013 (EST)
Yep. Spammers. Unfortunately, there's no way to permanently stop these unless they release their regex accidentally. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 14:10, December 7, 2013 (EST)
I just had a thought related to our spammer asshole. It looks the user count under the wiki stats includes EVERYTHING. Is there any of fine-tuning that count so that we don't have the spam-hole inflating the numbers? If that count could be tweaked to exclude blocked accounts and those that have never made a contribution, that should eliminate all of the spam accounts, and hopefully give the spam-hole one less incentive for continuing with his crap. -- Mythigator (talk) 14:50, December 15, 2013 (EST)
Tried to limit it to autoconfirmed but the code doesn't work for some reason so I emailed Jake. Hopefully get this set up by tomorrow. {{NUMBERINGROUP:autoconfirmed}} should do it but isn't for some reason, only returning 0. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 15:03, December 15, 2013 (EST)
Good thing I make a practice of looking closely at the entries on the Recent Changes page. For a second I thought that Petrovichnyamilelenkossarian was the work of our spammer. :-D -- Mythigator (talk) 19:27, December 17, 2013 (EST)
Well, the name in yellow next to it should have given you a hint. :P Oh, Jake said that what I was trying to do is not possible and he can't think of a way to do it. The Solar Dragon 03:55, December 18, 2013 (EST)
It's possible that at some point we can do a user cleanup to remove the spammers, but I'll need to write up a script to weed out the spammers from legitimate users and then remove all of their information from the database. At this point, I'd say it's not very high priority and I'd rather focus on other site improvements first. --Jake 12:12, December 18, 2013 (EST)

Old Money[edit]

Again, hello, how are you? Watch that episode and Grampa is at Nighthawk Diner. 24.141.5.202 12:39, December 8, 2013 (EST)

Nope. Grampa was at a parody of the painting Nighthawks. It's a different parody of the same painting. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 12:41, December 8, 2013 (EST)
What does "a parody" mean? Are you saying Rex Banner is at different diner that also a reference to Nighthawks or because Grampa is just a short visual gag as opposed to the entire scene with Rex, Eddie, Lou and then Barney makes it different? Again, how is it a different diner in "Old Money" then having the exact same diner be shown again in "Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment"? In The Simpsons universe there's a diner that we've at least twice which is a reference to Nighthawks painting, that those references are for the "Behind the Laughter" section, but the article is suppose to written a real place to The Simpsons and Grampa and Rex Banner are at the same place and Springfield has two diners that look the same even down the building across the street? 24.141.5.202 12:47, December 8, 2013 (EST)
1) Please do not change talk page comments after posting them. It makes conversations confusing. 2) After finally loading up the episode and finding the scene, which took a lot longer than it should have, I played "spot the difference" with the two. The main difference is that there are seats by the windows in the later episode and not "Old Money". However, I have added it to the article. The Solar Dragon 13:13, December 8, 2013 (EST)
Well, the Simpsons house changes all the time (mostly for the need of a gag which is also what happened since Rex Banner has to be at the window to sham it and grab Barney), but it doesn't make it a different house. To be fair, you didn't add it, I did. You toke it away comrade ;) I get you had to take the time to look at the episode, but couldn't you have just done that first before removing it and arguing against it. Anyhow, thanks for double checking. 24.141.5.202 13:29, December 8, 2013 (EST)
Yeah, as I've said before, and other users have too, IPs are generally treated worse than logged in users. They usually have their edits rollbacked first, questions asked later. I would again suggest that you make an account to allow other users, and me, to take you more seriously. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 13:36, December 8, 2013 (EST)

Spam accounts[edit]

I have reasons to believe all the red-link accounts registered this past half-day are spam accounts: one, they probably would have made edits by now. Two, I recognize some of the names (well, one, to be honest) I believe something needs to be put in place (a few Simpsons questions, for example), when someone registers an account. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 08:12, December 28, 2013 (EST)

I would also like to add the fact that most of them have spam account-like names. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 08:19, December 28, 2013 (EST)
Not sure how it could affect this, but maybe putting in a recaptcha also, if we don't. -- Webkinz ManiaTalkContributionsEditcount 10:18, December 28, 2013 (ESTy
We already have a very advanced captcha system in place which is required for all non-autoconfirmed users to do before saving edits. We don't know what else to try at the moment. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 11:02, December 28, 2013 (EST)
I know this sounds VERY cruel, but what about automatically blocking/deleting accounts that had not made an edit in the past 12-24 hours since its registration. Some spam accounts don't edit for a few days after their registration, some maybe a few minutes after. This could wipe out and prevent a lot of spam. If these spammers continue to do their business here, I believe we'll have to have an official wiki discussion. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 11:12, December 28, 2013 (EST)

Spam protection[edit]

Why is web.archive.org in the spam protection filter? I'm trying to put an address with that in my revised The Simpsons Archive page. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 13:43, December 28, 2013 (EST)

It was being used to spam on pages hence the adding to the spam blacklist. I'm about to remove it for you. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 04:03, December 30, 2013 (EST)

Forum thread[edit]

Hi Solar, just wondering if you could post the link to this forum thread in the site notice. I'm trying to decide which table design looks best and it'd really help if the community chose one. Thanks, ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 08:29, January 5, 2014 (EST)

Re:A couple of things[edit]

I doubt that I'll be around for long. I'm just starting a page that has been on my mind for a while. As for tables, I won't lie, I'm not going to use that template. The version I'm using now is slightly more complex, and templates usually don't work out with that kind of thing. Isn't it possible to simply re-jig the default settings for wikitables, then you can do away with the templates? -- Brian McClure (talk) 14:44, January 8, 2014 (EST)

About the play buttons[edit]

Hi Solar! I really don't like the play buttons. So, i ask the user, Loco87, that re-upload the new versions of the images, without that buttons. Loco87, should re-upload the files that you deleted, with good quality and without play buttons. --BTony70099 (talk) 21:03, January 11, 2014 (EST)

Dealing with spam[edit]

How do you deal with spam accounts? The Infosphere has had a lot lately, and they are getting rather aggressive. So I'm wonder what you are doing to prevent them? --Svip (talk) 13:16, January 16, 2014 (EST)

We've installed ConfirmEdit, SpamBlacklist and ConfirmAccount. If you need me to explain any more, will do later. Dinner right now. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 13:23, January 16, 2014 (EST)
How have you configured ConfirmAccount? --Svip (talk) 03:45, January 19, 2014 (EST)
I'm not 100% sure as I don't handle extension installation. You can ask Jake, our server manager, via jake@simpsonswiki.com. The Solar Dragon 04:48, January 19, 2014 (EST)

User pages[edit]

May I ask why are you creating user pages for 'new users'? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 16:19, January 18, 2014 (EST)

It's an automatic process when I approve a new account. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 16:49, January 18, 2014 (EST)

Deletion of candidates for deletion[edit]

Hi Solar! Please, delete the articles and files containing the template {{delete}} and which are in the category, candidates for deletion. Wikisimpsons needs a maintenance. --BTony70099 (talk) 16:01, February 13, 2014 (EST)

"The Man Who Grew Too Much" and "Diggs" Promo Images[edit]

Can fix this image map, please?[edit]

Hi Solar! Please, fix this imagemap:

Fix the lyrics of this song, please?[edit]

Hi Solar! Please, fix the lyrics of the song "The Simpsons NFL on Fox Theme Song", because have ortographic errors and words in foreign language. Question on a reference line.[edit]

In the episode "The Otto Show", Homer had a line which referenced episodes from earlier in the episode's season. "If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the garage next to your short-wave radio, your karate outfit, and your unicycle, and we'll go and watch TV." I could tell the reference to "Radio Bart" and "When Flanders Failed", but I don't get the unicycle part. Do you? --99.126.180.158 21:58, March 3, 2014 (EST)

I can't ever remember Bart owning a unicycle. Homer probably did in "Homie the Clown" but I don't think Bart ever did. The Solar Dragon 04:11, March 4, 2014 (EST)

The War of Art promo image 4[edit]

Hi Solar, As you have access to FoxFlash, Could you upload a new version of File:The War of Art promo 4.jpg(635x367), please? By the way, this image is placed between the diggs promo images in the foxflash gallery of the simpsons. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 12:59, March 5, 2014 (EST)

Hey Solar! Unblock request.[edit]

I think blocking Spare-tire for three months seemed a bit much. Couldn't it have just been three weeks? I don't think it would take more than a month for him to learn. In fact, he might have learned by now. I think you could unblock him. --68.190.85.218 17:18, March 13, 2014 (EDT)

I stand by the blocking administrator's decision. If you want to be unblocked (come on now, no random person would go about asking for another person to be unblocked, it's obviously you and I'm overlooking the fact you're circumventing the block), bring it up with the blocking administrator. Other administrators should not go about unblocking users blocked by others unless the admin has turned rogue, which they have not. The Solar Dragon 17:28, March 13, 2014 (EDT)
Who is the administrator in charge of blocking? --205.213.104.120 19:09, March 13, 2014 (EDT)
Just to clear up some potential confusion, but Spare-tire had already left a similar message on AleWi's talkpage and AleWi told him to talk to you. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 23:45, March 13, 2014 (EDT)
Can IP 99.126.180.158 be unblocked too please? It's the only other account I can use from my home computer. One month is enough for me to learn, and that last hint of vandalism was simply an arguement over the tense of Radcliffe's status I should have known better. Three really seems like a bit much. --68.190.80.74 17:42, May 25, 2014 (EDT)
It was your second block so that length of time is fine. The fact you are circumventing two blocks should really make me block you and the IPs for longer, maybe even indefinitely. The Solar Dragon 18:31, May 25, 2014 (EDT)
No, please! I'm sorry, I won't complain about it again. I know it's only for one more week anyway.--68.190.85.218 15:14, May 27, 2014 (EDT)
You just broke a policy with a recent edit as well! Stay away from the wiki until your ban is over and I won't ban you again. Make another edit and I will extend your ban and block both IPs too. The Solar Dragon 15:21, May 27, 2014 (EDT)

Wikisimpsons now have Google+[edit]

Can you give me a direct link to the page? The Solar Dragon 17:35, March 13, 2014 (EDT)
OK. Wikisimpsons Google+ page. I put "Solar Dragon", because "Wikisimpsons" is a name that violates username policies of Google+. Enjoy and greetings!. From Barthony70099 to ソラル ドラゴン (Solar Dragon in japanese language). --BTony70099 (talk) 22:38, March 13, 2014 (EDT)

Leopold's name[edit]

In Whacking day Chalmers mentions giving the Assistant Superintendent position to someone called Holloway, this was only a short while before Leopold was introduced and also Skinner's description of Holloway sounds like Leopold, so I think Holloway is his surname, what do you think? Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 16:54, March 16, 2014 (EDT)

We can't make assumptions like that. He wasn't seen on screen and it wasn't specifically stated to be him. For all we know, there could be more than one assistant superintendent or there could have been another one before Leopold. The Solar Dragon 16:56, March 16, 2014 (EDT)

Hey, It's Been a While![edit]

Sorry for my inactivity. I just had different interests. I've recently regained an interest in The Simpsons, albeit only for Season 1, the Ullman shorts, and the Treehouse of Horror specials. Just my opinion, though. How are you doing? Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 13:35, March 20, 2014 (EDT)

Most people go inactive every so often. Welcome back. :) The Solar Dragon 13:44, March 20, 2014 (EDT)
So what I was doing in my spare time during my inactivity was archiving Nintendo's official sites, specifically GameCube, DS, and Game Boy Advance ones (Nintendo of Europe is where most are). I also archived some sites on Angelfire, Geocities' hosts, etc. and artificially revived some web pages that lacked images on archive.org. I also worked on downloading webpages from the Wayback Machine and making all of those web pages of a specific site link to one another. I'm also glad to talk to you again. I've become a big archivist, in simple terms.

Hey Solar! You should look Wikisimpsons Answers and delete the Spam questions I've closed and flagged. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 18:29, March 23, 2014 (EDT)

On it. The Solar Dragon 18:28, March 23, 2014 (EDT)
Hi Solar! I've just seen some SPAM questions in Answers today and they should be deleted as soon as you or any other admin can do it. By the way, I think we need some kind of 'captcha' in Answers to prevent it from having SPAM (just an idea). / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 17:27, May 12, 2014 (EDT)
I've cleared the spam. I'm actually going to ask Jake if he can promote you on answers so you can deal with it yourself. When you click on the name, you can block the IP address and hide the posts by said IP after. Not sure if we can get a CAPTCHA on answers as it's a different software. "A Tree Grows in Springfield" couch gag plot?[edit]

Hi Solar! Please, add plot of the couch gag of Season 24 episode, "A Tree Grows in Springfield" on the article, List of couch gags. "Tales from the couch" is not enough information, and need more. Homer uses an ax and? Please, add the plot. --BTony70099 (talk) 15:32, March 24, 2014 (EDT)

I can't remember the plot of that. It was a year ago I last saw it. The Solar Dragon 15:44, March 24, 2014 (EDT)

Talk Page Revision[edit]

I forgot to revise my discussion. Would you please recheck the article? Here's the link for you to see all of the changes I made to the article: http://simpsonswiki.com/w/index.php?title=Talk%3ALaura_Powers&diff=604495&oldid=604493. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 19:32, March 24, 2014 (EDT)

I sometimes get a "Server is taking too long to respond" message[edit]

When I try to access the wiki, specifically at nighttime, the wiki will not allow me to. It tells me that the server is not responsive. Do you have any idea as to why this is?

Oh, and check out this 2011 ShoutWiki backup: https://archive.org/details/shoutwiki.com. That should help you regain a lot of lost wikis on ShoutWiki. :) Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 18:14, March 26, 2014 (EDT)

Can you take a screenshot of this issue next time you have it? When did it start happening? If it happened last night, it was most likely because of the server maintenance. The Solar Dragon 18:37, March 26, 2014 (EDT)
Alright, will do. It's just a Firefox error screen, though (I use Firefox). Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 18:43, March 26, 2014 (EDT)
How often does this happen and does it happen on any specific pages at any specific moments? The Solar Dragon 19:06, March 26, 2014 (EDT)
Sometimes on the weekend it might do it for thirty minutes, if I recall. It seems to have been down all night last night (I had insomnia). I think the nighttime is where the problem lies. It just told me that the server is busy. I'll try to find more information on this. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 21:40, March 26, 2014 (EDT)
I don't know of anyone else having these issues. It might be a problem with your Internet connection. I don't think it's a problem with the server. The Solar Dragon 05:59, March 27, 2014 (EDT)
I think Solar is right about your issues being from the server move, but I should point out that some slowness at night is not out of the ordinary. Most maintenance and backups run by the server only minimally affect site performance, but the daily database backup can sometimes lead to pages taking longer than normal to generate. This backup starts each night at 11:30PM EDT and usually lasts about 15-25 minutes. During this time, you may get slow page loads or even one of the 'Wikisimpsons has a problem' errors saying that the database has too many connections. This is normal and can be expected. If you are experiencing slowness at any other time, please do not hesitate to contact me directly on my talk page or by email. --Jake 15:01, April 5, 2014 (EDT)

Some Editing Tips (You Might Know It)[edit]

My editing tip is to get Simpsons-related facts directly from official sites, merchandise, episodes, etc. The Internet may not always be that reliable. You could also try using an image to source something relevant to it. I would think this technique is useful for revising articles. Once in the "Football" article a dog was referred to as "Santa's Little Helper". Maybe to reduce the risk of getting your facts wrong, try watching the episode while you edit rather than relying on your memory. This will make an article more concise.

And, of course, there's the Internet Archive to crawl FOX's old Simpsons sites (and Simpsons Archive). You also could avoid opinionated words like "unfortunately" (use "much to ____'s dismay"), and when you source something about a "maybe" statement, try writing it in a formal way (e.g. start off with "based on common belief", "There has been a debate whether ____ or ___ is correct", etc.) Wikipedia does not allow contractions or colloquial language in their articles, as they both are informal. Maybe Simpsons Wiki should follow this example.

Some stuff might be a little unclear, but hopefully you should understand what I am saying. :) Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 20:33, March 27, 2014 (EDT)

The only articles I create are those of episodes I have just watched recently and still have on my screen, or I watched only a few minutes ago so it's still fresh in my mind so I don't make those mistakes. As for the other stuff, it's fine. You can feel free to makes those changes but I don't feel that they're important enough to just stop everything else. The Solar Dragon 06:15, March 28, 2014 (EDT)
Well, I was only giving suggestions, right? :) Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 20:33, March 28, 2014 (EDT)

Wikisimspons Answers Question Help[edit]

Hi Solar! Do you (or anybody in here) have any idea about the answer to this question / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 20:33, March 28, 2014 (EDT)

Hi! Do you have an idea on this question? Since I don't have a kindle I don't know what to say! / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 09:26, April 16, 2014 (EDT)
I'm pretty sure there was just a delay on Kindle, from what I read. Pretty sure the update is out now though. I've answered it. The Solar Dragon 09:31, April 16, 2014 (EDT)

Thank you.[edit]

For some reason I can´t comment your answer to my question :"In which chapter a character hallucinates with a backround music that says like oooone or waaand?", so I write you to thank you. I found the episode! It is called "D'oh-in in the wind". And the song is White Rabbit from Jefferson Airplane. Anyway, thank you very much for trying to help me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Comarosas (talkcontribs) 21:45, March 30, 2014

More "Luca$" parodies please?[edit]

Hi Solar! In Season 25, episode, "Luca$," when Bart turn the tablet, appears apps that are parodies to real-world apps, videogames and websites:

But i don't know what websites has been parodied as "Alaxies", "Find My Retainer", "Nerds With No Friends", "Snub Hub", "Whimpr" and "Bully Avoider"?. Please, add the names of the real-world websites, that was parodied in these names in Luca$/References. Greetings!--BTony70099 (talk) 14:14, April 8, 2014 (EDT)

I think that "Nerds With No Friends" is a parody of "Words With Friends", and "Whimpr" could be a parody of "Tumblr". / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 14:51, April 8, 2014 (EDT)

Missing quests[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for answering about the library as I have two characters who want to build it. I noticed by reading other questions that I've missed the gulp & go and that won't trigger ether. I've left both homer and skinner open but nothing is happening. I've sent homer back to krusty several times with no result. I have the school, power station (complete) and have many other buildings. I have closed the app, closed the iPad and even tried looking for an update but with no luck. I've spent quite a bit of money on this app and now it seems to be stuck. What can I do?

I have all the houses including the white house. I have the school, willies shack, power plant, apus apartment, barts tree house etc... And nearly completed level 14

SQ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.103.90 (talk) 22:28, April 14, 2014

As I said, make sure all open quests are closed. What buildings you have doesn't matter, it matters what quests you have open. Keep playing and eventually the quests will trigger. The Solar Dragon 06:10, April 15, 2014 (EDT)

Doris[edit]

Thanks. I was actually in the middle of starting a discussion when you stepped in. Anyway, personally I think we should have separate Lunchlady Doris and Lunchlady Dora articles; Dora covering all appearances from "Mook/Chef/Wife..." Price's half-assed 'clarification' is not very clear but his implication to me is that Dora is a separate character. Price says Dora was "introduced", not renamed, and he says they may address the issue explicitly at a later point in the show. Even if they are considered the same character by the writers it still doesn't mean we have to do the same because it doesn't make sense. Are we saying that all the times in the classic era when Doris was referred to by name are retconned? That, to me, is not only disrespectful but also absurd. At the very, very least the Doris -> Dora change should be limited to the site's in-universe content (Doris Grau's page, for example, also says she voiced "Lunchlady Dora" at the moment, which is obviously incorrect). But I'd favour two articles. Gran2 (talk) 11:19, April 18, 2014 (EDT)

I think that the show treats them as the same character and unless we see a transition from one character to the other (i.e. Fat Tony and Fit Tony) we should say they are the same character. After all, people can change their names in real life so why not on The Simpsons? If the issue is addressed on the show, as you said might happen, we will also address it. Doris should be called Doris on Grau's page and other pages talking about Grau voicing the character as she did voice Doris when she was known by that name. I just hope that they do say something about it, either in an episode or in the next Simpsons guide book, if they do release a new one. I'm pretty sure Simpsons World didn't sell as well as they hoped after all. The Solar Dragon 11:54, April 18, 2014 (EDT)
See, Wikisimpsons:Merge_and_Split_Requests#Lunchlady_Dora_and_Lunchlady_Dora./AleWi (talk) 12:04, April 18, 2014 (EDT)
Fair enough. As long as all mentions in connection with Doris Grau say Doris, then that's OK, I guess. Though I really think all plot summaries from pre "Mook/Chef/Wife..." episodes should still call her Doris as well. Gran2 (talk) 12:27, April 18, 2014 (EDT)
Yeah. I do kind of agree with that. However, on appearances pages, it would probably be easier to keep it as Lunchlady Dora. The Solar Dragon 12:32, April 18, 2014 (EDT)

i can't create articles about a fan-made character, episode or game on my userspace?[edit]

Hi Solar! The Wikisimpsons policy prohibits create articles about a fan-made character episode or game. But it's allowed create such articles, unless on the userspace? I hope answer. --BTony70099 (talk) 18:04, April 24, 2014 (EDT)

You can create them in your userspace, yes. Just try and limit it though please. We don't want users spending all their time creating fan stuff in their userspace. The Solar Dragon 18:21, April 24, 2014 (EDT)
For examples, articles about non-existent episodes ("User:Barthony70099/Gangnam Homer"), about non-existent characters ("User:Barthony70099/Bartomer Flandpson", a combination of Bart with Homer and Simpson with Flanders), about real-world characters that never appeared nor were mentioned on The Simpsons ("User:Barthony70099/Enrique Peña Nieto", Note: Enrique Peña Nieto is the current president of Mexico in real-life), or about unconfirmed seasons ("User:Barthony70099/Season 35"). The fan stuff is considered non-canon. --BTony70099 (talk) 22:03, April 24, 2014 (EDT)
Pages created in the userspace do not count as articles. So yes, you can create them. The Solar Dragon 03:32, April 25, 2014 (EDT)

An IP changing the voicing of the characters[edit]

Hi Solar! There has been an IP who has been changing the voice actors of some characters (with out sources) these days. I think that something should be done with that. Thanks! (By the way, you should think about archiving your talk page) / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 18:10, May 3, 2014 (EDT)

The Simpsons - syria[edit]

Yeah, I've seen it. A whole load of bullshit. The Simpsons did not predict it. It was just a joke in the episode. Tim Long, who wrote the episode, even joked about it. Link. It might be worth a mention in the trivia for the episode that it became a theory made up but I'd wait to see how popular the theory becomes. I haven't really seen it trending all that much on social media sites after all. The Solar Dragon 11:06, May 9, 2014 (EDT)

Wikisimpsons needs a maintenance: Deletion of all candidates for deletion and speedy deletion[edit]

Hi Solar! Wikisimpsons needs a maintenance. Please, delete all the articles and files that are in categories candidates for deletion and candidates for speedy deletion. I think you should also delete the article "Lady Penelope Ariel Ponyweather", because violates the notability policy. The notability policy says that if a movie or TV show has been referenced at least 5 times on The Simpsons, should get an article, but a single reference do not get an article, unless on the reference tab of an article about an episode of The Simpsons. --Barthony70099 Eat my shorts! Ay Caramba! 15:02, May 17, 2014 (EDT)

Articles and images that are to be immediately deleted should be tagged with speedy delete, not {{delete}}. {{delete}} is for those pages that require discussion about being deleted. Please remember this in future. The Solar Dragon 15:10, May 17, 2014 (EDT)
I know what you say, thanks for delete the candidates for speedy deletion. But why not delete the candidates for deletion? There unused files in that category. --Barthony70099 Eat my shorts! Ay Caramba! 15:19, May 17, 2014 (EDT)

Fix continuity information please?[edit]

Hi Solar! Please, fix continuity information in these Simpsons episodes:

That contains ortographic errors and very little information, so, fix it, adding more information to the continuity and fix the ortographic errors please. The reason of the little information and the ortographic errors, is because the English isn't my native language. I found references to the episodes "Deep Space Homer" and "The Homer They Fall" in "The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace", a reference to the episode, "Bart the Mother" in "Treehouse of Horror XVI" and another reference to "Deep Space Homer", in "Homerazzi". Too much Spam on Wikisimpsons Answers[edit]

Hi Solar! Have you noticed an increase in Spam on Answers too? Having spam "questions" every 5 minutes and having to hide them and having to block the IPs is starting to get exhausting. Is there anything that could help us to deal with all that spam? / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 16:39, May 27, 2014 (EDT)
I'm hoping it dies down eventually. If not, we'll have to look into what we can do. Maybe see if we can have them only add existing categories, stop them adding external links, or even add a hidden text box that if text is entered into, it doesn't let them post. We'll cross that bridge if it stays like this. The Solar Dragon 16:53, May 27, 2014 (EDT)
Ok! Let's see what this comes to, and let's hope it will decline soon. / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 17:04, May 27, 2014 (EDT)

Season 26 premiere[edit]

Hi Solar! According to this tweet Season 26 is going to premiere on September 28, 2014 (which was kinda logical). Should we accept it as official? / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 04:58, June 1, 2014 (EDT)

Yeah, that'll be official then. Of course, they could always move it closer to the time but we may as well add that as the airdate. The Solar Dragon 05:02, June 1, 2014 (EDT)
It must be accepted as official as Al Jean has said it a few times in Twitter! So, should we put the countdown for the season premiere as we did last year? / Loco87 (Talk / Contribs) 08:05, June 10, 2014 (EDT)
Oh yeah, good point. Forgot about the countdown. Do you want to go ahead and do it then since you can now edit the sitenotice? The Solar Dragon 08:11, June 10, 2014 (EDT)

why did you remove the Richard image category but keep the edna image category? It's not the real edna, it's Richard dressed as her, in the same way Bart and Milhouse are dressed as Skinner and Willie. Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 11:55, June 8, 2014 (EDT)

The Wreck of the Relationship reference[edit]

Hey Solar, I've been inactive lately, sorry life is busy. :P Anyway, do you think that "The Wreck of the Relationship" episode title is a reference to a shipwreck—The Wreck of the Relationship? Thanks. --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount) 06:21, June 21, 2014 (EDT)

I think that's a bit of a stretch really. The Solar Dragon 06:29, June 21, 2014 (EDT)
For now, there's no way to tell what the title could be referring to. It might become clearer as it gets closer to the airdate and some plot information is revealed, so we should just wait and see. -- Mythigator (talk) 10:25, June 21, 2014 (EDT)

Songs from comic stories? Really?[edit]

Are these really notable? Rather than their own articles, References page mentions would be more appropriate. -- Mythigator (talk) 09:59, June 22, 2014 (EDT)

Maybe quotes pages as well. I don't really know, we need to alter our notability policy to count for these. I don't really like them and believe they should go. The Solar Dragon 10:04, June 22, 2014 (EDT)
Under the notability policy it dosen't saying anything against them. We have already lots of songs from books. This is a wiki about the Simpsons./AleWi (talk) 10:08, June 22, 2014 (EDT)
The songs could just as easily go in a quotes page. They're not actual musical numbers from the show. There's no music behind them, only lyrics, they're quotes from a comic. The Solar Dragon 10:11, June 22, 2014 (EDT)
I see them as a song becuase they has notes like in Nacho‎. It's a parody on a real song and you can understand at his is singing./AleWi (talk) 10:13, June 22, 2014 (EDT)

I could see a song in a comic story being notable if it's presented as an entire song (particuarly if it's original to the Simpsons-verse), not just a character singing a couple of lines from it, regardless of whether those couple of lines are real lyrics or a parody. By that standard, the "Maggie & Moe Mysteries Theme Song" would pass muster, but not the parody snippets from "Memory", "Singing in the Rain" or "Shall We Gather at the River". In the current issue of Simpsons Comics, Homer has a really nice parody of a couple of lines from "Call Me Maybe", but that wouldn't pass, either.
If the song has already one instance where it's notable enough to get its own article, and there is another place where a character sings a couple of lines from it, then by all means that "couple of lines" instance can be incorporated into the article (for example, "Good Morning Starshine"). But those little snips don't warrant an article on their own, which is why I haven't made (and don't plan to make) an article based on Homer's "Call Me Maybe" mini-parody. -- Mythigator (talk) 10:37, June 22, 2014 (EDT)

Bill and Marty on Appearances pages[edit]

Hey Solar! I've seen that Bill and Marty's pictures are swapped in the appearances pages in which they appear(Bill has Marty's picture and Marty has Bill's picture). So, could you use your bot to change it? Thanks, / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 19:21, June 23, 2014 (EDT)

Urgh. I thought I'd already corrected this issue. Thanks for telling me I hadn't. I'll get on it soon. The Solar Dragon 05:15, June 24, 2014 (EDT)

1 month is enough and I miss the old days[edit]

Hi Solar! I'm Barthony70099. Sorry for evade the blockade, please don't change the blockade but be blocked is really terrible. I can't upload images, I miss the old days of Wikisimpsons. I can't wait until september, but please, unlock me, 1 month of block is enough, 3 months, many time, 1 year, are too and BLOCKED FOREVER IS WORST THAT ALL THAT BLOCKADES. I behaved very well on Wikisimpsons being locked. This time I'm not forcing, but i'm sad because i don't like this blocked. Please Solar, unlock me. Greetings! --201.248.243.204 15:02, July 12, 2014 (EDT)

Sit out your block and stop bothering me, or I'll extend it even more. The Solar Dragon 15:20, July 12, 2014 (EDT)

Tom Poston[edit]

The Capital City Goofball spoke in Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade and the voice was definitely Tom Poston. Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 14:49, July 15, 2014 (EDT)

I can't find a source for that./AleWi (talk) 15:54, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
I would check Simpsons World except it's been packed away... No other website I can find lists Tom Poston as the voice of the CCGB in that episode. The Solar Dragon 16:13, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
I just checked my Simpsons World and it doesn't state who voiced the Goofball in that episode, not Tom Poston nor Dan, Harry, Hank or even Karl Wiedergott. Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 16:45, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
So we can't just assume it was Tom Poston, because it likely wasn't. I doubt he was credited. The Solar Dragon 17:07, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
Tom Poston's Wikipedia article mentions him voicing the Capital City Goofball; so do the entries for "Dancin' Homer" on both IMdB and Wikipedia. The Google search results for "Tom Poston" "Capital City Goofball" include, among other things, a discussion forum on nohomers.net that mentions Poston voicing CCGB. Even if Poston wasn't credited when the episode aired, that doesn't preclude the possibility of Poston voicing CCGB. After Michael Jackson was credited as John Jay Smith in "Stark Raving Dad", the show instituted a policy where all guest stars had to be credited under their own names. "Dancin' Homer" aired before "Stark Raving Dad", so just because Poston wasn't credited doesn't mean that he didn't voice CCGB. Plus, CCGB sounds like Poston. Between that and the website mentions, I'm convinced. Mythigator (talk) 22:42, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
Whoops and big dope-slap on me. I forgot to check which episode was under discussion. I didn't even realize CCGB was in "BVLV3G". Never mind the above! -- Mythigator (talk) 22:46, July 15, 2014 (EDT)
The "Who Does What Voice" section in One Step Beyond Forever says that Dan Castellaneta does the voice for CCGB. Since "BVLV3G" is the only episode in seasons 13 and 14 where CCGB speaks and since Tom Poston is not credited or even mentioned as having a role anywhere in the book, I think it can be said with reasonable certainty that Dan voiced CCGB in that episode. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 00:41, July 16, 2014 (EDT)
Well Tim Long (the episode's writer) himself tweeted me that it was indeed Tom Poston TimLong TomPoston.png Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 03:23, July 17, 2014 (EDT)

The Simpsons Take the Bowl[edit]

Thank you Solar for creating the article; I was going to do it tomorrow 'cause today I've been quite busy. In conclusion: Thanks! / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 18:47, July 18, 2014 (EDT)

Another promo image for "The Simpsons Guy"[edit]

Hi Solar! In FoxFlash there's another promo image for The Simpsons Guy in Family Guy's season 12 gallery. I've mailed you a screenshot of FoxFlash so you now which image I'm referring to. Could you upload it? Thank you, / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 14:10, July 21, 2014 (EDT)

Oh, I forgot all about that since I've been so busy recently... I'll give it a mark I think i deserves if you submit them. I'll get on them before the end of the month. The Solar Dragon 17:26, July 26, 2014 (EDT)

This blog thing...[edit]

I'm just wondering about it. There hasn't been much talk about it recently. (Unless I've missed it). Are we still going ahead with it or have we scrapped it? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 06:30, July 27, 2014 (EDT)

I don't know, I'll poke Jake about it. The Solar Dragon 07:13, July 27, 2014 (EDT)

Emmy Awards 2014[edit]

Hi Solar, should we create a news article on this? / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 19:02, July 31, 2014 (EDT)

Go ahead. The Solar Dragon 02:59, August 1, 2014 (EDT)

What have you got against the ham goof in 22 short films???[edit]

Why don't you see referring to a ham as a "roast" as a goof? Couldn't you explain when you revert? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.64.230.99 (talk) 16:03, August 6, 2014‎

Because it's not a goof. The Solar Dragon 16:06, August 6, 2014 (EDT)

Thank you but in what way is it not a goof? Are you meaning that "roast" an acceptable term for "ham"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.64.230.99 (talk) 16:53, August 6, 2014‎

That is exactly what I'm saying. Roast beef, roast chicken, roast pork, roast ham. Hell, pretty much any meat can be roasted and referred to as a roast. The Solar Dragon 16:55, August 6, 2014 (EDT)

Junior Campers[edit]

Would it be possible for you to delete the Junior Campers page so I can move my User:Phinbart/Junior Campers into that mainspace name but keep its history? And also, is there a way to remove the article from the category Category:Junior Campers without removing the template {{Junior Campers}} from the page? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 12:00, August 9, 2014 (EDT)

I just copied and pasted the content and deleted your user subpage. I'm pretty sure we can't merge page histories and the only history "lost" is that you did the work on the page. As for the category, I added [[Category:Junior Campers| ]] to the page. Adding a space after the pipe in a category sticks it at the top of the category. Tapped Out[edit]

There's, apparently, going to be an App Store update this week to fix some problems in-game or something and there also may be more land on the way. Oh, and didn't we affiliate with one of the many Tapped Out sites at one point? TSTOgame or something? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 07:15, August 12, 2014 (EDT)

Shouldn't the decorations and attractions on the Krustyland content update article be ordered in unlock rather than in whatever order they're in now? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 12:21, August 13, 2014 (EDT)
That would be best, yeah. The Solar Dragon 15:43, August 13, 2014 (EDT)
Can Krustyland Tickets still be bought for cash in Krustyland? I'm doing a section about in-game purchases and I'm confused what also changed with the Level 43 update to The (Krustyland) Store. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 06:42, August 16, 2014 (EDT)
No, they can't. It can only go Krustyland Tickets -> Cash, not the other way around. And what do you mean what changes with the Level 43 update? The Solar Dragon 06:59, August 16, 2014 (EDT)
I must've misconstrued something on the Krustyland update page. The changes with the L43 update were just that you could buy KT with Donuts. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 07:26, August 16, 2014 (EDT)

Otto Facebook Image[edit]

FXX marathon[edit]

I guess so. The Solar Dragon 05:29, August 19, 2014 (EDT)

Captcha[edit]

Dear Callum, is there any way to edit without playing with quite annoying captchas? Page Wikisimpsons:Requests_for_Rights does not mention this. -- (Gabor) 2F13 (talk) 06:08, August 20, 2014 (EDT)

Getting autoconfirmed will stop the Captchas. Although I can't remember the amount of edits you have to make to get autoconfirmed. You'll just have to keep making the edits until that happens. We had a very big spam problem, hence the Captchas. The Solar Dragon 06:13, August 20, 2014 (EDT)
Thanks. (Editing talk pages do count also? :-) Ooops! Breaking news! You tried to access the address https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/noscript?k=6Lf1GegSAAAAAMJvyWEW52eceh1iYcNF2K4rt-67, which is currently unavailable. -- 2F13 (talk) 15:18, August 20, 2014 (EDT)

Barbarian Castle[edit]

Have you levelled up your Barbarian Castle to Level 3? If so, what happens because I'm a bit stumped of what changed to the castle once I levelled up to Level 3. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 08:32, August 20, 2014 (EDT)

Did you get the 15 free donuts? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 05:27, August 21, 2014 (EDT)
15 free donuts? I didn't see a notification and if I did get it and missed it, I'm not sure as I have too many donuts to keep track of. As for the barb castle, nothing visually changed. You get walls etc. to add onto it. The Solar Dragon 06:01, August 21, 2014 (EDT)
