Cultural references

• The episode title is a reference to the movie The Hateful Eight.
• The party planner, Kensey, says that Addy's mother was busy trying to get her son into the University of Southern California (USC).
• In the book Gallop Girls, George Washington's horse exposed Benedict Arnold's horse as a traitor. This is a reference to Arnold's leading the British army in battle against the soldiers whom he had once commanded, and his name became synonymous with treason and betrayal in the United States.
