- The title of the episode is a reference to the phrase Go big or go home.
- When Marge asked Homer how big Mr. Burns signed on the card, Homer said "Eddie Bauer big", referring to Eddie Bauer's logo.
- Homer calls the interns the Milleniums (a distorted way of calling them Millenials) and mentions Snapchat, Fortnite, Uber and Venmo.
- An intern says Homer "is denser than osmium-188," osmium being twice as dense as lead.
- Mike Wegman calls Homer the "Michael Jordan of Sector 7G".
- The #30 Jersey is a tribute to the Golden State Warriors's basketball player Stephen Curry. Wegman is wearing the Warriors' colors, royal blue and gold. The Warriors had won the NBA championship in 2017 and 2018.
