Synopsis[edit]
- When penniless con-artist Marge Bouvier is sent to Italy to convince wealthy sap Seymour Skinner to come home, she's tempted by the trappings of his affluent lifestyle. But there's a big fat fly in the ointment: Skinner's clingy, dim-witted mooch of a houseguest, Homer Simpsley. Lies, lust and Italian lira are abound.
Plot[edit]
Marge Bouvier is a con artist who lives in Springfield. She is working on her latest mark, Luann Van Houten, when she overhears Agnes Skinner talking to Luann about her son, Seymour Skinner. Agnes says that she will give a suitcase full of simoleons to anyone who brings Seymour back home, which piques Marge's interest. Later, Marge approaches Agnes and acts like she knows her and is an old friend of Seymour's. Agnes takes Marge back to her house and tells her about Seymour, saying that he has run off to Italy to become an artist rather than take over the family prune factory. Agnes then asks Marge to go to Italy and bring Seymour back, offering to pay for the whole trip.
Marge arrives in Bella Truffa and finds Seymour at the beach. She pretends to be an old college acquaintance of his from Ditherton. She struggles a bit to get the story straight, since Ditherton is an all-male college and the teacher she claims to have in common with him is a private tutor, but he eventually believes her. Homer Simpsley then shows up, who is a friend of Seymour's. Homer immediately becomes suspicious of Marge and is upset when Seymour invites Marge back to his house. While there, Marge sees all the paintings of Homer that Seymour has painted.
Marge begins spending time with both Seymour and Homer in an attempt to get close to Seymour to convince him to go home. When Homer wants to get Marge kicked out, Marge decides to become Seymour's muse instead of Homer. She makes herself look more appealing to Seymour, and he immediately wants to paint her. Two months later, the three of them are still living together, but Marge wants to get Homer to move out. While she and Seymour are spending time together, Homer takes Seymour's laundry back to the villa. He then puts on Seymour's clothes and pretends to make out with Seymour while wearing them. Seeing this, Seymour tells Homer to leave his villa. Homer picks up a bust to hit Seymour with, but can't go through with it and drops it. Seymour then slips on a rag and injures himself in a slapstick manner until he falls down the stairs and seemingly dies. Marge walks in on Homer over his body, and the two of them decide to have Homer pretend to be Seymour so they can have a lavish lifestyle together. Seymour starts to come to, but Homer and Marge suffocate him to death before dumping his body in a trunk in the ocean.
After this, Homer assumes the identity of Seymour Skinner. He and Marge get married, then go to the Banca di Roma in Rome to withdraw Seymour's money. They spend more time together and eventually develop feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Seymour's body comes out of the trunk it is in and his bloated corpse floats to the surface and is soon found. However, due to the state of the corpse, it is believed to be that of Homer instead. Marge and Homer are questioned by Inspector Wiggum, and Marge convinces him that Homer killed himself. Shortly after, Seymour's old friend, Gary Chalmers, arrives at their hotel room. Homer and Marge invite him in and try to convince him that Seymour is at the Colosseum. When Chalmers notices that Homer is wearing Seymour's ring, he threatens to call the police after he has his drink, which unbeknownst to him, is poisoned. As he drinks it, Marge bludgeons him with a bust, killing him.
As Homer and Marge go to hide Chalmers' body, Bart notices them with it and tries to warn someone. However, Homer catches him and strangles him to death. Homer and Marge are questioned by the police once more, and it looks like Homer is going to confess. However, the police find Hans Moleman selling Chalmers' jewelry at a pawn shop and arrest him for the murder instead. While Homer and Marge are free to go, Marge is worried that Homer will let slip what they have done. The two of them go out on a small boat where Marge bludgeons Homer to death with a bust. As Homer is dying, Marge has a glass of wine, which she realizes has been poisoned by Homer. The two of them die on the boat together. A letter then arrives at Seymour's villa, saying that his mother had died after reading about Seymour getting married, and had left everything to him in her will.
