- The Itchy & Scratchy Show episode "The Great Brawl of China" is a reference to the Great Wall of China.

Goofs
- The opening shot of the Simpson house shows both cars in the drive, despite the fact that the family except Bart were out in one of the cars.
- The song "Bye Bye Bye" was released in 2000, whilst in the episode, it's used in a 1999 flashback.
- In one scene at the Simpson House, the picture of Maggie on the wall has her baggie colored pink: However, in the next shot, it is blue.
