• The title of the episode is a reference to John Steinbeck's final novel, published in 1961, The Winter of Our Discontent and websites' monetization of contents, mostly Youtube's.
  • Season 25's episode "The Winter of His Content" also referenced the novel, and the title of the episode is a reference to that too.
