Episode Information
|
"Beware My Cheating Bart" is the eighteenth episode of season 23 of The Simpsons and the five-hundred and fourth episode overall. It originally aired on April 15, 2012. The episode was written by Ben Joseph and directed by Mark Kirkland. It guest stars Kevin Michael Richardson as the Springfield Mall security guard.
Synopsis[edit]
- "Bart is forced to chaperone Shauna, Jimbo's girlfriend, to a movie, and they both start developing feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Homer uses his new treadmill to watch an old TV show, "Stranded", which he gets hooked on."
Plot[edit]
Homer takes Bart and Milhouse to the cinema in the Springfield Mall and decides they should see the Happy Little Elves II: The Sequelf while he visits the Food Court. After Homer finishes eating, he buys a Butt-Whisperer 9000 from Sport Palais. After the movie, Bart and Milhouse pass by Dolph, Jimbo, Kearney, and Shauna. Jimbo and the others plan to see Crawlspace while Shauna watches All the Wrong Reasons. Jimbo forces Bart to chaperone Shauna.
Homer begins training with his new apparatus but becomes infatuated with the TV series Stranded as he discovers the trainer's built-in TV. The next day, Jimbo forces Bart to go out with Shauna again. They visit Crème de la Creams, where Bart takes the blame for shoplifting a bottle of perfume that Shauna stole. They escape from the security guard and hide in an abandoned store, where Shauna shows her breasts to Bart as a reward for taking the blame.
Bart can't stop thinking about Shauna's breasts. Meanwhile, Homer continues watching Stranded instead of training, which Marge discovers and disapproves of. Bart and Shauna keep seeing each other, and after they kiss at the Springfield Swimming Pool, the bullies spot them and become angry. They chase Bart and Shauna, who hide in the Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop. However, Comic Book Guy kicks them out after Shauna angers him, so they take refuge in Bart's treehouse.
Homer has now started a club for Stranded fans, but it goes poorly because he hasn't watched the entire series. The meeting ends with Marge explaining the whole plot to him. Lisa visits Bart's treehouse and offers to help him and Shauna. Before she can, the bullies find them. Lisa helps Shauna realize she doesn't want any of them and reveals she wants an older man.
Homer becomes angry at Marge for spoiling the plot, but his mood improves when he sees she has decorated their bedroom to look like a desert island. Meanwhile, Jimbo tries to scare Bart away from Shauna by hanging him upside down from the treehouse. The scene zooms out from Springfield into space and ends with sand grains in a cat litterbox.
Production[edit]
Reception[edit]
The Plymptoons couch gag was nominated for a 2012 Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject, but it lost to Paperman.[1]
