- The couch gag is a reference to Pac-Man.
- Reformation Hardware is a parody of Restoration Hardware.
- Keeping with the Reformation theme, a man garbed as Martin Luther is often depicted is seen affixing a scroll titled "95 Theses" to the wooden churchlike door of the establishment.
