- The title of the episode is a reference to the movie Uncut Gems.
- Carl gets tickets to see Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
- Homer asks Marge if she could record the Gen Gala red-carpets arrivals and watch them when he and Lenny were at a Hall & Oates concert.
- A picture of Lady Gaga can be seen when Marge tells Homer that she has firm commitments from several "A-level gays".
- The lyrics "A field trip life for me" in the "Yo-ho, yo-ho" song sung by Bart and Lisa is a reference to "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)".
- Erin says that Sarah Wiggum is "hanging with the Yankee Candle crowd" when she saw Sarah with Marge.
