- At the Springfield Convention Center, at Krusty Kon, a statue of Krusty in carbonite is shown, a reference to Han Solo being encased in carbonite in Star Wars.
- In the season 40 gag reel, Miami Sound Machine appear and play the song "Conga".
- Lisa uses the terms throlled, memed, gifed and pwned, all internet references.
- The plot of having an all-female cast to assist Bart is a reference to recent trend of rebooting movies with all-female casts and/or main characters, like the 2016 Ghostbusters movie or the 2019 Captain Marvel movie.
