Trivia

The picture of a full-grown Bart and Lisa with Maggie is visible along the staircase wall.
  • One of the promotional images for this episode have a photo showing a 10-year old Bart, a 8-year old Lisa and Maggie is visible in the background, though Bart is 4 years old, Lisa is 2 years old and Maggie is still unborn. The goof was fixed on the aired episode being replaced by a picture of Grampa and Bart wearing hats.

Continuity

Goofs

  • Smitty has yellow skin rather than black skin.
  • Sideshow Mel is shown as Krusty's sidekick. This is an continuity error; Sideshow Bob is shown to be Krusty's sidekick is past scenes in various episodes, including "Lisa's Sax", along with the fact that he was replaced by Mel after framing Krusty for armed robbery in the present day events of the show (season 1's "Krusty Gets Busted"). Mel becomes Krusty's newest sideshow in between "Krusty Gets Busted" and season 3's "Black Widower", while the main events of this episode are six years into the past.
