Australia is a country on the Australia.
History
According to Grampa, the Simpson's ancestors were kicked out of Australia.[1]
Bart, intrigued by the Coriolis Effect, makes various calls throughout the Southern Hemisphere. One of whom is Tobias Drundridge, an Australian boy. When Tobias supports Lisa's claim, Bart asks him to ask his neighbor. Tobias, believing Bart is a doctor, rushes to his nearest neighbor, who lives ages away due to being in a rural area. The phone is left on, with Bart forgetting to hang up, and, due to it being a collect call, Tobias' father is faced with a $900 bill. When he calls up "Dr. Bart Simpson", he gets mocked, and after dozen of ignored letters, Australia indicts Bart for fraud.
The US State Department wants to imprison Bart, but the family decide on a public apology in Australia. The family explore the culture, while Bart and Homer go to court to make the apology. Bart apologizes, but the Australians want to punish him via a boot to his buttocks. Bart and Homer escape the booting, running back to the embassy, meeting Marge, Lisa and Maggie on the way. Back at the embassy, Bart agrees to the booting through the gates, but just as it is about to happen, Bart moons the Australians, writing "Don't Tread On Me" on his buttocks. The Simpsons quickly leave the country by helicopter, where we see that Bart Junior, the frog Bart sneaked past customs, has reproduced rapidly, spreading throughout the country and ruining its economy.[2]
Bart also sent a prank call here after he got his new cell phone, which belonged to actor Denis Leary.[3]
When Mr. Burns was depressed over Bobo, Smithers arranged for the Australian population to join hands and spell out "Monty Burns" with candles.[4]
The judges at the Monkey Olympics figure-skating event include an Australian, as well as an Italian, Hungarian and Frenchman.[5]
When Lisa fails to show up to her Azerbaijan seat at the Model U.N. Club, Australia's and Belarus's representatives can be seen. Australia is represented by Database.[6]
Monroe family have a book from Australia.[7]
