History[edit]
Kurt Hardwick and Ethan Ballantyne are New Zealanders. They are two artists/sandwich shop workers in Springfield's Sprooklyn neighborhood who are also counselors at Expressions, an art camp Lisa attends for a week.[1]
A Russian secret agent Dimitri Nigelovonovitch uses the cover identify of Nigel, a New Zealander physical therapist and kite surfing instructor in Springfield.[2]
Milhouse notes how the movie The Hobbit taught him and Bart that New Zealand's beautiful landscapes and attractive tax credits add up to a filmmaker's paradise. He then says for more information, visit www.nzfilmhere.nz and there is a caption, New Zealand (The Milhouse of Australia).[3]
Taika Waititi made many references to his native New Zealand.[4]

When The Better Business Battalion started apprehending shoplifters, they became so successful that the crime rate in Springfield dropped to zero. With the drop in crime there also came a drop in store's prices. Beer at Moe's Tavern only cost a quarter a glass and as a result Homer ended up getting so drunk that when he awoke he discovered that he had become the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
A newspaper headline later declared that New Zealand and Australia were now at war, which was presumably Homer's fault, and this incident likely led to Homer being kicked out of office.[6]
