Synopsis[edit]
- When a romantic night ends in injury, Marge recovers by taking up kiteboarding while Homer bonds with his hallucinated hernia. Lisa attempts to fix her parents' strained relationship by seeking advice from an unlikely source: Shauna and Jimbo.
Plot[edit]
Marge and Homer are going out for a mandatory drug meeting, so they hire Shauna as a babysitter, but Jimbo sneaks in as well. At the Springfield Suites, Chalmers and Skinner present the meeting, but when Marge and Homer get bored, they sneak out and discover the Springfield Wedding EXPO.
Meanwhile, at home, the kids are watching a scary movie. When Shauna and Jimbo start kissing, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie step out and go to Flanders' house at Ned's invitation.
At the EXPO, Homer and Marge impersonate Dr. and Mrs. Hefferman to deliver a keynote speech. They then return home to find a party organized by Shauna and Jimbo and promptly kick them out.
Homer tries to carry Marge upstairs, but his back suddenly gives out at the top of the stairs, and they fall. At the hospital, Homer learns he has developed a hernia. Back at home, the side effects of his medication cause him to hallucinate his hernia, while at Springfield Physical Therapy, Marge is trained by Nigel, who introduces her to kite surfing.
Homer continues indulging in unhealthy eating with his hernia and refuses to join Marge at the beach. Lisa, seeking help, asks Shauna and Jimbo for advice and learns that the solution is finding something both parents enjoy doing together.
The kids bring Homer to the beach, and after seeing Chief Wiggum break his bike due to his weight, Homer decides to join Marge in kite surfing. They get carried to a wind farm, where they reconcile.
In the end, at the Springfield Police Station, Marge discovers that Nigel is a Russian spy, leading to his arrest at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.
