Synopsis[edit]
- "When Marge realizes that everyone views her as boring, she takes up competitive lumber-jacking as a hobby (and has a real gift for it). The circuit of competitive timbersports takes her on a month-long retreat to Portland with her trainer, Paula, whom Homer worries is going to steal her away forever."
Plot[edit]
At the Springfield Elementary School the children are doing dramatic scenes written by themself. After an introduction from Chalmers and Skinner, Milhouse, Ralph, Sherri and Terri do their scene of Riverdale; Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney do their scene of a Let's Players recording themself playing a game for MyTube; and Martin, Jimbo, Sophie and Lewis Clark do a play based on The Masked Singer.
At the end, it was Lisa's turn as herself, Database (as Bart), Ralph (as Homer), Sam Monroe (as Marge), and Kearney (as Maggie) doing a play of the Simpson family making them feel uncomfortable on how the people see them from outside (and in Lisa's view of them). To change people's idea on her being boring, Marge tries to do a funny sermon at the First Church of Springfield, but fails.
Going back home, a lightning bolt hits a tree making the trunk fall on top of the car. The next day, Homer starts chopping down the trunk but soon goes to sleep on his hammock, so Marge starts chopping it herself. Patty invites Paula to watch her doing the job and invite her to become a lumberjill in the woods.
Marge eventually takes up timbersports, and takes part in the Springfield Timbersports Pro-am, which she wins against other men. Paula eventually asks her to become her partner by training for a month in Portland and she accepts.
One month later the family goes to Portland to bring Marge back, but finds her getting acquainted in the house with Paula and unsure of coming back the next day after the competition, the Grizzly Timbersports Northwest Championship. They win, and Paula tells Homer that she has a family and is not interested in Marge. They get back and to strengthen Maggie's confidence, Homer gifts her a toy chainsaw, which scares her.
