- The episode title is a reference to The Smiths 1985 studio album of the same name.
- It may also be a reference to the 1998 book of the same name by Mikita Brottman.
- The episode is a parody of the TV series Succession.
- Dick Gregory, George Carlin, Albert Brooks and Richard Pryor were in the line up at The Village Turtleneck.
- Krusty presents the public a Superman bowling ball, calling it the Super Bowl.
- Worth-a-Try Burger is a parody of Whataburger.
- The Krustyland characters are parodies of real people:
- Burger Reynolds is a parody of Burt Reynolds.
