- The title of the episode is a reference to the term "made man", a fully initiated member of the Mafia.
- The Overpriced World of Angelica Button is a parody of the theme parks The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, based on the Harry Potter franchise.
- Batterbrew is a parody of Butterbeer.
- The houses are parodies of the Hogwarts houses. Grizzledum is a parody of Gryffindor, Pufflesnuf is a parody of Hufflepuff and Slithereen is a parody of Slytherin.
- The Categorize Cap is a parody of the Sorting Hat.
- The elf who was cut from the movies is a parody of the house-elves.
- Marge's hair is stylized as Mickey Mouse's hat in the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment in Fantasia.
- Grampa says that "Everything is A-OK" was a popular slogan during Martin Van Buren's election campaign.
- Comic Book Guy mentions worshiping the Klingon faith of Ba-a-a-a, from Star Trek. He also thought that the buzzer was for Tony Roma's restaurant.
- The unsanitary ball pit in Hell is labeled "Arby's".

- Fat Tony admits he never watched The Godfather, while Marge has never seen it except the wedding scene. Fat Tony mentions that he had seen Shark Tale and Analyze This.
- The Ferrari Protect-A-Rossa car seat is a play on Ferrari Testarossa.
- Fat Tony gives Maggie a figure of St. Zeno of Verona, who Fat Tony calls "the saint of learning to speak".

- At the part where the mobsters are at the baby store, there's a onesie that reads "I Hate My Thighs" which was a real controversy that went viral. Louie showed it to Fat Tony, which made Fat Tony slap him and say why would you body shame a baby.
- Luigi admits to Fat Tony that he's never went to Italy.
Continuity[edit]
- Homer immediately crosses out Moe even though in "Moe Baby Blues" he acted as a father figure to her.
- In the scene at the Gentlemen's Club, the subtitles for the episode have Tony say "Marone a mi!", but the correct pronunciation is "Maronna mia!", which could be translated as "My Earth". In another scene, the same mistake on "marone" is written on Louie's phrase when dumping the diaper.
