Synopsis[edit]
- "After Homer steals Comic Book Guy's car, he must either prove his innocence in court or reconcile with the jilted nerd."
Plot[edit]
Homer is eating at The Gilded Truffle, where he won a 100% off coupon, while with the saved money Marge is getting a Swedish massage. Once out, Raphael, the vallet, hands Homer the keys to the wrong car, a fancy seafoam blue Cadillac Eldorado.
They drive away with it, having fun on the road, but when they go back to the Truffle, Comic Book Guy, the owner, sues them of Grand Theft Auto. Homer tries to persuade him, but when he notices his Radioactive Man #1 was destroyed by the voyage, he presses charges.
At Springfield County Court House, Judge Snyder finds Homer guilty, even after a touching apology letter (written by Lisa) and the family prepares on the chance Homer might go to jail, so Marge goes to The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop to reason with Comic Book Guy, with no help, so Lisa comes up with the idea of mitigations video, used already by Mr. Burns for one of his crimes against Springfield, helped by Guillermo del Toro.
They try hiring Gil Gunderson to film their movie, but opt out when they find out his camera hand shake due to Vitamin E deficiency, so they start recording people's opinion on him themself and when Marge's video turns out not so great, Lisa edits it using her skills in Final Cut Pro.
Comic Book Guy won't budge in court, even after their video, and the judge decides to tell his verdict the next day. But there's one last hope, as Radioactive Man #1 is sold at Zorbot the Geek in perfect conditions, but even that is not enough, until Comic Book Guy notices a Welcome Back, Kotter keychain that Homer has.
To make Homer feel how he felt with his loved car and comic, he smashes the keychain with Thor's hammer and then drops the charges, making peace with Homer once and for all, becoming best friend and going to the Comic-Con together, while Bart has some fun with Skinner with an insulting mitigation video to get out of detention.
