Synopsis[edit]
- "When a video of Bart and Homer fighting goes viral, they begin a journey as social media celebrities. Meanwhile, Lisa battles the school's new industrialized detention system."
Plot[edit]
At the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Homer, Lenny and Carl are watching Anger Watkins's show on TV, when he asks who's better, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. Homer calls the show and says John Stockton, angering Watkins more, which flushes him off, making Lenny and Carl know Homer doesn't know any about sport.
At home, Marge consoles him and tells him to watch someone else instead, especially on the internet, but hints him off on the idea of creating one himself. Meanwhile, at Springfield Elementary, Lisa inadvertently starts a food fight. When Chalmers asks them who started it, Lisa suggested that physics started it, which led to Fizix getting the blame, but when Principal Skinner finds out it wasn't true, he gives Lisa a one week detention.
Homer starts recording his show, Walkoff Homer. Bart is watching from the doorway and when he finds the show annoying, he goes behind him to change the letters of the show to Moose Poo with Hmer Imsn and starts armpit farting. When Homer turns around to him, they start fighting, with raccoons ending up eating up food in front of him.
Their video goes viral on the internet, and Warburton Parker and tell them the news, to which they start doing the Floss dance, imitating "Backpack Kid". Parker tells them he's going to teach them how to make better videos and become rich: monetizing. He shows them the Smells Finger and Falls Out of Tree video, telling them how they could have made many money by monetizing it. Their next video with Buzz Cola makes over 25 million views.
In detention, Lisa is enjoying it, but Skinner informs her that her detention is going to be held at the R.O.C.C., the Remote Onsite Correctional Center. Due to budget cuts detention has to be held elsewhere, hosted by Lindsey Naegle, privatizing detention.
Parker gives Homer his first check, $5000, which he says it'll come in handy when he'll buy a boat. He then sold the next fight's location at the restaurant they're eating, Utica Wild Thighs. Bart and Homer go to Moe's for a beer, when Moe says he'd do anything instead of accepting his money, due to his popularity, Homer asks for the bar to become his, Homer's, while he goes in the sewers with "his people".
After school even the bullies stop harassing Bart, and instead escorting him. Meanwhile more kids enter detention as Lindsey starts making more profit by having them make license plates, but the kids go on strike. Meanwhile, when Bart and Homer are seen hugging, the internet start revolting, seeing the contrast with the videos they've produced.
When the kids keep going with the strike, the teachers are hired instead to do the job, while Homer and Bart are informed of their failure. Parker, however tells them they're making a comeback, doing Mortal Kombat Live Online, hosted by Netflix, but they can't get themselves to fight to the death and their video gets only one view, Maggie's. Homer gets back to Walkoff Homer, inviting Anger to it, who gets angry when Homer informs him the show will last 5 hours.
