Homer visited Gil after seeing an ad for CLAMB and bought a car from him after giving Gil his old car. When Homer came home and shared the news, Lisa told him that Shelbyville was their nearest refueling point for electric cars. Homer then discovered that the car could handle a drive from Springfield to Shelbyville and back before he had to refuel.
Homer went to complain to Gil and found out that he had sold his old car to Cletus.
