Meals on Wheels is a service in Springfield that delivers meals to old people in their homes.

History[edit]

When Homer nearly killed the Screamapillar, he was sentenced to 200 hours of community service. While he was performing his service with Meals on Wheels, he met Mrs. Bellamy, an event which proved to have dire consequences.

Description[edit]

The provided meals appear to be of varying quality. They come with a cobbler dessert which is evidently quite good, as Homer gave in to temptation and ate the cobblers before he delivered the meals (and was called out for it by the Old Jewish man). By contrast, some of the meals come with steaks which Mrs. Bellamy claimed were so tough that she needed an axe to cut them. In hindsight, however, this may have been simply a ruse, an excuse for Mrs. Bellamy to greet Homer at the door with an axe, thereby frightening him and then mollifying him with the explanation, thus leaving him more vulnerable to the deception put on by the producers of Frame Up.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Meals on Wheels is a real-life service which exists in many communities in the UK, Australia, the USA and Canada.
